“She is beautiful. Was the infamous Beth Taylor this pretty?” he asks, causing her to take a moment to think over her words again.

“I don’t know, I never saw her, and all images of her have been hidden away from view.” She smiles, knowing that she is only half-lying about this. “Much like her grandmother. I was only fortunate enough to see Rosalie because of my aunt. However, even her grandmother’s keepsakes have now been confiscated.”

Jonah frowns for a moment before shrugging it off, knowing that both the Steeles and Lawrences are so obsessive, he can well imagine them doing such a thing. Still, being Oliver’s second, he is more than happy with Angela and the way she looks. One day, if things go the way he hopes, she will belong to him. He traces his finger over her lips before placing it firmly inside of his desk drawer, which he locks away for safekeeping and lonely nights.

“Until next time, Pru,” he smiles.

“Goodbye, Jonah,” she replies and nods his way. “Oh, and Jonah?”

He forces his eyes away from the beautiful woman in the photograph and looks up at Pru with a hint of annoyance on his face.

“My sincerest condolences. Aria was such a lovely girl; she didn’t deserve what happened to her.”

“Quite,” he mumbles sadly, before looking away to hide any genuine emotion he might reveal to her.

Pru does not push the subject any further, simply smiles tightly and leaves.
