“I love you, Daddy,” she said, throwing her arms around him.

“I love you, too, honey. I love you, too. You take care of yourself. You hear me?”

“Yes, of course.”

“Now go get this Lorr’s sister back!”

He handed her the keys. The machine even has a set of metal keys, Tinsley thought. How retro can you get?

The Thunder Bolt was a work of art. It was painted white and had yellow lightning bolts painted down the side. It even had the original NASA logo painted on the wing. She couldn’t believe she was actually going to get to fly it.

The cockpit held two seats, and the panel had an array of flashing lights and buttons. She figured most of them were probably for display and possibly obsolete. She sat down in the pilot’s seat and familiarized herself with the controls.

“I think you’ll find that’s my seat,” said Dante when he entered the cockpit.

“I think not.” She didn’t have the slightest intention of moving.

“I’m captain,” he said indignantly.

Tinsley almost laughed. “No, I think you’ll find that’s me.” She grinned impishly at him. “Besides you crashed the last ship I let you drive. I don’t want you to trash another one.”

“Let me drive?” Dante said with fake shock in his voice. “I’m pretty sure you were begging me to fly your ship!”

“Anyway, you were too slow. I’m at the controls. Now sit down. I want to take off.”

He glared at her. But ultimately, he took the copilot seat.

Chapter 10

Dante didn’t mind letting Tinsley sit in the captain’s chair. In fact, he liked having a woman in charge. It was a turn-on. But he couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed with the result of the power struggle. Partly because he was eager to drive the Thunder Bolt, and partly because he wanted to know if she felt strongly enough about him to cede the controls to him without a fight.

He knew it was only fair for her to pilot the Thunder Bolt given it was her father’s ship. It was also probably smart, he thought, since he’d never driven a Terran craft before, let alone the upgraded remodel of a true classic.

The silver lining was that instead of looking at the controls, he could look over at Tinsley. Watching her behind the controls always turned him on, but he was on fire watching her handle such an old machine. He figured once the mission was over, maybe she’d let him take the reins.

She was always keeping him at a ready-to-go stance with his semi. But now, seeing her nimble hands grabbing the shifters and her taut body leaning over the control panel, he had a raging full-blown erection.

He could feel his horns tingling at their nerve endings with the thrill of anticipation.

Dante wanted her more than ever although he was concerned that he was starting to listen to his lower head more than the one on his shoulders. He needed her in ways he couldn’t explain. She was his mate in every way, and he wanted to consummate the relationship fully before danger separated them. Or before he scared her away.

“The tracker is holding the pirate ship at a steady pace and coordinates, so I’m going to lock in. I’ll put this in warp-speed to get us there faster. Don’t worry, though, I have it set to disappear when we’re within range so we don’t come up right on them.” Tinsley had a sarcastic grin on her face as she turned to Dante.

He knew the moment she looked at him, his desire was all over his face. “So, you’re saying we are good to go until we approach?”

Her cheeks turned rosy as she nodded.

Dante leaned over from his seat and kissed her.

The slight jolt of the ship crashed his body against her, and she looked down, undoubtedly aware of how hard he was already. Tinsley reacted just as aggressively as Dante felt.

She reached behind his neck and pulled him closer, almost onto her lap.

Their kisses were hungry and fed by an urgent passion.

Dante picked her up swiftly from her seat and helped her straddle his.

The best part about a two-passenger flight team was they had no one to be cautious of.
