He stopped suddenly, his eyes dancing. He was having fun.I did not want to make this fun for him. I was dead serious. He had hurt me. He had broken me. No fun for him.

Well, you're going to have to think of a different tactic then, because every time you fight with him, he gets hard and you end up fucking on the desk.

Atticus turned his attention back to Rowan. "Leave us."

Rowan nodded. "Okay. Though I suggest if you're going to continue yelling, maybe turn on some music." Rowan indicated the button on the desk.

Atticus nodded. "Yup. Understood."

I frowned at the door. "That's what that button does?"

"Yes. Sometimes our developers need to have meetings about top-secret things. The background noise it provides helps with the extra layers of security. Pierce put that in about two years ago."

"Of course, Pierce. Your lackey."

"He's not my lackey. He works for me. He's the head of security."

“I really don’t care.”

"You're angry," he said softly as he pushed to his feet. And holy sex on a stick, charcoal gray on the man was outstanding. It brought out the peculiar shade of green in his eyes, and the framing of thick dark lashes made it impossible to look away from him. Jesus. Not to mention, he had a day-old stubble going on, and I knew exactly how that would feel branding my inner thighs.

Stay strong. Focus. We're not boning him.

No, we certainly were not.

He stalked toward me, his every movement panther-like, and I scrambled backward. "What are you doing, Atticus?"

"It occurred to me this morning when you didn't show up that while I apologized, perhaps how I was apologizing was not how you needed me to say I’m sorry."

I stared at him. "What are you doing?"

"I'm apologizing."

I shook my head. "No, I mean, why are you walking toward me? You have nothing I want. Back it up."

I put out my hand to try and warn him off. But really, what good was it going to do? The man was enormous. I backed up against the wall, and he reached for me. Or rather around me. When he engaged the privacy button, the door frosted instantly and locked. Then a red light came on.

"Soundproofing." His voice was low, barely above a murmur now as he leaned toward me. "Make no mistake, Gwen, I'm apologizing because I need to. I need you to hear me. I know I hurt you, but I need you to understand that I never wanted to do that. It tore me apart saying those things to you."

"I don't believe you," I said with a firm shake of my head.

"I know. And since you can't believe my words and accept my apology, I have no choice but to show you."

Then he lowered himself to his knees.

Chapter 15

ATTICUS

I knelt before her. Understanding what I was planning on doing, Gwen tried to shift out of the way, but I planted my hands on her hips, holding her gently in place. The scent of her perfume swirled around me, making my skin buzz and my blood rush.

Leaning forward, gently pulling her toward me, I slid my nose up over her skirt concentrating on the sweet heat between her thighs. Inhaling the scent of her sent every last brain cell on red alert. Danger, Will Robinson, danger. She was dangerous to me, but the truth of it was, the warnings came too late.

She already had me under her spell. The only thing to do was give in and try and prove that I was in any way deserving of her.

So your big plan is to use sex?

I didn't have many tools in my arsenal. She was mad at me. Hell, I knew she might even hate me. But she still wanted me. Her body remembered. Her skin needed my touch. Her pussy needed my cock. But in that moment, it wasn't about me. It was about surrendering myself to her.
