Using the app, I open the garage door for her to pull in. We both climb out of the SUV and round the front to head for the entrance to the house.
I open the door with the key and let her in. She looks up at me, then steps inside. Placing my hand on the small of her back, I follow her in.
I can’t help running my gaze over her. The dress she has on is sexy. The back is cut low, revealing her smooth dark skin. The denim jacket does little to cover the flesh I want to put my mouth all over.
Her ass looks great as it jiggles beneath the soft-looking fabric of the dress. Lynn has come into her grown-woman weight nicely. She’s still not that tall, but her body packs a punch.
I bite my lip and shake my head. She looks back over her shoulder and lifts a brow. I’m tempted to lean in and kiss her full lips.
However, I want her to experience this. I want to experience it with her. I stop us in the living room and allow her to look around the dimly lit space. The house is fully furnished.
I still come in twice a month to clean and let in some air. When I can’t, Darla does it for me. Moses was happy to see me build this place on the land he promised her.

Teddy Pendergrass begins to croon as I place the song on repeat, needing her to hear how much I’ve missed her. I place the phone back into my pocket.
“I Miss You” spills through the speakers that run through the house. Not able to keep my hands off her, I place them on her hips and tug her into me. She looks up into my eyes, searching.
“You built my dream home? By my lake,” she chokes out.
“I did.”
I reach to brush my fingertips along her hairline. I can’t believe she’s here. She’s as beautiful as ever.
“Trev—”
I shake my head. There’s so much I want to say, so much that needs to be said, but this isn’t the moment for any of it. I just want to breathe her in, so that’s what I do.
I look into her eyes and lean in until we’re a breath apart. Her lips are so close, but I don’t make the connection. Instead, I run my nose against the bridge of hers. She wraps her arms around me and holds me tightly.
We sway to the music and get lost in each other. This is what I wanted to do twelve years ago. Back then, I wanted to bring her home.
I had planned for this to be ours. I had hoped she would accept me and Jess. Now, having her in the home I built for her feels so right.
She releases me to run her fingers up into the top of my hair, causing me to close my eyes and groan. I glide my hands up her bare back, beneath the jacket and squeeze just to make sure she’s here.
Still staring into her eyes as I breathe her in, I reach to push the jacket from her shoulders and toss it onto the couch. Lynn presses her fingertips against my face as if trying to ensure I’m real.
I take her hand and kiss her small fingers, moving my lips to her wrist. Electricity zings through me from the simple gesture. I nearly drop to my knees.
Needing to anchor myself, I wrap my arms around her and hold on tight. Swaying to the music is all I can do to keep from falling at her feet and sobbing.
I bury my face in her neck and inhale deeply. We were never meant to be apart. This woman is my forever.
I glide my hands down her soft skin until I reach the tie at her lower back. Pulling back, I silently look down into her eyes. She bites her lip with a look of uncertainty in her gaze, but she gives a slight nod. I loosen the knot and pull the fabric apart.
As I find the zipper keeping the dress up over her lush ass, she moves her shaky hands to the hem of my T-shirt and tugs it from my pants. I release the zipper on her dress. Then I reach for the tiny sleeves, pushing them from her shoulders. The black fabric falls to the floor.
