Joq laughed against the guy’s lips, felt the answering smile in the clack of teeth as they kissed. He pushed his hips forward and felt the guy gasp. Joq grinned. The guy huffed.

“Yeah, okay,” the guy said around his panting breaths.

“Okay?” Joq asked as he pulled out, waited, and thrust back in.

“Ah, fuck,” the guy squirmed where Joq had him pinned to the mattress with his dick buried to the hilt, his hands holding the guy’s in a firm grip over his head.

“Good?”

“You know it is,” the guy panted.

And well, yeah. Joq did. He slid all the way out, watched the guy suck in a breath and brace for it, and pushed back in hard. He found a rhythm and let the guy’s hands go so he could better bracket himself over him, his forearms on either side of the pillow so they could kiss properly.

His phone rang. Joq paused.

“Really?” the guy asked.

Joq leaned over to the bedside table. The new angle nudged the guy awkwardly, and Joq felt his grunt rumble through his abdomen. The screen lit up with George’s name and the frowning picture Joq used for his contact.

It was from a holiday in the Greek islands in the off season several summers ago. Joq had woken George up by rubbing up against him with excessive enthusiasm to get him to laugh. George had frowned, chuckled, shoved him away and Joq got the picture. George’s dark hair was a mess against the white sheets, his serious brown eyes slits as his face got stuck between a frown and a smile. It was one of Joq’s favourite pictures. George had asked him repeatedly not to use it: ‘In case someone sees.’ Joq shook his head every time George said that. George never looked at Joq when he asked, and Joq never looked back when he replied, ‘No one’s gonna see.’

The phone stopped ringing and the screen went black. Joq would call him back. He brought himself back over the guy.

“You sure you don’t need to get that?” the guy asked. “’Cos, I mean, I can just wait.”

Joq grinned. “If I picked up,” he drew his hips out so just the tip was inside, watched the little uptick of the pulse in the guy’s throat, the sweat trickling over it, “I wouldn’t stop,” he shoved back in.

“Ah, fuck,” the guy’s back arched as he bared down on Joq’s dick. “You like talking to your mum while you fuck random dudes?”

Joq laughed and started fucking the guy for real.

After he made the guy come, got himself off a few thrusts later, he pulled out and the guy hissed.

“Sorry, sorry,” he said as he rolled to the edge of the bed and removed the condom.

“All good,” the guy panted.

Joq stood, picked up his phone and hit the missed call.

George picked up after a few rings.

“Hey,” he said.

“Hey, thought you’d be in the air by now?” Joq replied and looked at his reflection in the floor to ceiling windows, the blinking lights of the city beyond the hotel room.

“Delayed.”

Joq was still panting. He sucked in a deep breath, ran a hand through his short blonde hair, dark with the sweat. “You wanna talk—

“Sorry, you’re busy,” George cut him off.

Joq huffed a laugh. He looked over his shoulder at the guy in the bed, met his sleepy eyes and shared a smile.

“Nah, just a hook up.”

“Any good?” George asked.
