“Um... I don’t remember,” she said. “She was my dorm roommate freshman year, things didn’t go smoothly for some reason or the other. We parted ways, and it isn't exactly the best of sights to see or run into her.”

I watched her after this, and for a few seconds, she managed to hold my eye contact, but then she turned her face away and continued on with her drink.

“What are you going to do with the picture you took of me?” I asked, and this time around, I couldn't physically see her stiffen. It made the corners of my lips slightly lift in amusement.

“Um... uh,” she stuttered. “I’m supposed to take photographs of all her moments.”

“You knew I was her brother when you first saw me?” I asked, and once again, she seemed stumped. But perhaps it was the alcohol and the liquid courage it gave; she didn't seem to give a fuck because she responded.

“I didn’t know. I just thought you ... looked interesting.”

She held my gaze then, and I scoffed silently.

“You thought I looked interesting?”

She turned around then, and I shook my head as I lifted my glass for another sip. The rest of my family was outside on the terrace talking as they reviewed different options for the dessert. At this point, I was ready to leave and sure that Aurora was just rejecting everything because she purposely wanted to make everyone's life involved difficult.

I knew her and was almost completely certain that she had made her decision even before this entire meeting started.

When I was somewhat certain that they weren’t looking, I looked at this member of her party and asked the question I needed a very direct answer to.

“You find me interesting enough to kiss me?” I asked, and this time around she nearly choked on her wine. Or perhaps she did because after this question and for the next two minutes after, she didn't seem able to control herself and recover.

I watched and waited patiently, and eventually, she found the courage to turn around to look at me.

“Excuse me?” she asked in a little more than a whisper.

“I want to test out this attraction I have to you.”

After this, I said nothing more, and her entire skin began to flush. Her cheeks grew puffier, her chest heaved harder, and I could understand that her entire system was now going into overdrive wondering how to respond to my offer. Unluckily for the both of us, we ran out of time, and then I was forced to go as soon as I heard my mother call out to us.

“Think about it and let me know,” I said. However, before I could leave, she held onto my wrist.

My heart seemed to skip a beat as she did this. Her grip was stronger, much stronger than any woman’s I had ever seen, but there was also something so warm and soft about it. Her nails weren’t manicured like the women I was used to, but as I watched those hands, I suddenly wanted more than anything to see just how my cock would fit in them.

She stared at me, and I stared back, yet it seemed as though she still had nothing to say.

And then, eventually, I saw her eyes move to decide when she realized that we probably had an audience even though they were at a distance away.

And then she let me go. She went back to her drink without saying a word, and I smiled as I returned to the table.

Chapter Eight

Evelyn

I was still and had my phone against my ear, but it was either I called Anna now, or I came certified mentally incoherent. The second he left to return to his party, like I should have done but was not able to due to the shock that still permeated my system at his request, I texted her the explanation of what had just happened. And now, ten minutes later, I was calling her and walking out of the area preparing to scream.

To my surprise, she picked up as soon as I called, and I couldn't even be as mad because it was perfect timing.

“What's wrong with you?” I asked through gritted teeth. “You've seemed quite dedicated to messing me up through the day.”

It took a while for her to compute anything I was saying, but eventually, she yawned and replied.

“Stop blaming me for this morning. I told you I set the alarm. And what's this about meeting some guy and kissing him? Did you do it? You should. You need to be kissed or even more. You’ve becoming so uptight.”

“I didn't call you to scold me,” I shot back.

“So why do you call then?”
