“So, any other rules?” Not that she really wanted to know, but it was the first thing that came to mind. Anything to keep her eyes from wandering back to her stepbrother.

Shiloh piped up. “Um, girls stay pure until the wedding, not that we don’t do other stuff, because obviously we do. Just no fucking.”

Nope, I shouldn’t have asked.

Turning to Tanner, her jaw dropped. “And the boys, do they save themselves too?”

At least he had the decency to blush.

“Hell no, and why would you want them to? They better know what they’re doin’. Who wants a fumbly-bumbly under the covers, if you get my meaning. I heard some of the boys get plenty of practice with the ski bunnies in Jackson.”

“Not me.” Griffin grabbed her face and kissed her.

Billy shrugged. “Me neither.”

Tanner and Jake remained silent.

Arien spoke under her breath, “Sounds like an antiquated double standard to me.”

“Maybe, but see us girls, we bond when we fuck, whereas boys can easily compartmentalize it.” Nodding as she spoke, it was written all over her face. Shiloh actually believed it.

She snorted. “That’s ridiculous.”

“Unless you’ve already done it, how do you know?”

Touché.

Six pairs of eyes were on her.

“Guess I don’t.”

Kellan never did come and sit with them. As if the kissing wasn’t enough, now he was showing off his “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” skills. Puh-leeze. She was getting a headache from rolling her eyes so much. Or maybe it was the Fireball she’d consumed from Emily’s flask. Apparently Grams taught them well. Arien had to admit, he looked hella good out there. Not that she’d ever tell him.

It was getting late. She was about to ask Tanner if it was almost time to go, when she heard the opening bars of a more-than-familiar tune. Kellan and a bunch of guys stripped off their shirts, all of them ripped and gorgeous and flaunting their six-packs, two-stepping like they were in a TikTok video.

“Oh, my fucking God.” Arien was laughing so hard she was crying. “I can’t. I. Just. Can’t.”

“Told ya so.” Tanner sniggered.

“What’s next? The Hokey Pokey? Macarena?” she asked, swiping the tears from her eyes. “Can we go home now?”

“No.”

It wasn’t Tanner who answered. Arien glanced up and there was Kellan, breathing all heavy, wiping off the sweat from his chest.

“My turn to watch you.” He smirked. “C’mon, city girl. Let’s see what you’ve got.”

Still giggling, thanks to the Fireball in her bloodstream, she looked over at Shiloh, and crooking her finger, whispered in her ear.

Cassie took over the spot next to Griffin. “That her?”

Arien pulled Emily in close and stood. “More than you could ever handle, cowboy.”

Then she walked right on over to the dude in charge of the music, Emily and Shiloh following behind her, and handed him her phone. “Hi there, I’m Arien. Kellan’s stepsister. We’re gonna switch things up a bit, if you don’t mind. Song’s queued up.”

“You got it.” He chuckled. “Give’m hell, sweetheart.”

“Let’s show ’em, my girlies,” she crooned, strutting out to the middle of the floor.
