“Ah, she hasn’t told you who she is or what she is, did she?” Lester laughed in Carter’s face, trying to turn his head to stare at Diesel.

“Get him the fuck out of here. Don’t turn his ass over to the authorities. We need time to deal with him.” Sgt. Brocard ordered, glaring at the laughing man as she ushered Diesel out of the room.

Once the bad guys were taken care of, given to the custody of Sheriff Collins, Mallory was still taken to the hospital to be looked at. While there, her parents were called and informed that she was found alive.

Room was made when her parents arrived at the hospital with the sheriff in tow. New introductions were made for Jep, Tuck and Canada. Tears, laughter, hugs and more tears and laughter were shared by the large group. The nurses had all given up trying to get everyone out of the room since no one was taking any chances leaving her alone until Sheriff Collins could guarantee that everyone was locked up for good.

“Sheriff, what’s going to become of Marco?” Pratt finally asked the burning question around the room.

Sheriff Collins sighed heavily. “Right now, he’s on suspension until an investigation is complete. He admitted to placing the bugs in the conference room but swears he didn’t touch the hotel rooms. He states that Bainfort threatened his mother and father and then threatened me which is why he did what he did.”

All of Alpha Squad looked around at each other then at Mallory for a few moments before Sgt. Brocard spoke up. “Don’t fire him. Yeah, what he did was wrong, but he did it for the right reasons. Bainfort knew his weak spots. Put him on probation for a while, but I don’t think he’ll do anything like this again. He’s not a bad kid.”

“He could have caused you guy’s harm!” Charles spoke up, confused at what the team was saying.

“We were already in their crosshairs the minute we came into town. Bo and Rodney knew who we were when they caught up with us by Mallory’s truck. They didn’t think a bunch of women knew what they were doing. Women are weak links in their eyes. They found out the hard way we aren’t.” Raso informed Charles, smiling as Marcus kissed the side of her head.

“That was their mistake. Ye lasses are definitely not weak links.” Marcus chuckled as he pulled his wife into his arms.

“Oh shit!” Pratt said as she doubled over. “Um Houston we have a fucking problem!”

“Why is it ye wind up having our bairns away from home, lass?” Highlander sighed as he picked his wife up in his arms as Sgt. Brocard ran out of the room yelling for a nurse.

“Not my fault the little slugger didn’t want to wait until we were home.” Pratt stuck her tongue out at her husband.

“Just remember, Mallory is an awesome name!” Mallory yelled out, laughing when Pratt flipped her the bird as she was carried out of the room.

An hour later, Highlander walked into the waiting room where their large group was waiting, all smiles as he pulled out his phone to show a picture of his newborn daughter. “Everyone, meet Aurora Marie MacLeod, my daughter.”

Cheers went up around the room, hugs and back slaps were passed around until Highlander walked up to Opie and pulled him in to whisper something in his ears. When Opie pulled back, he looked at Highlander for a few moments before turning around and finding Charles and Susan Hart.

“Sir, ma’am, I know I already told you over the phone that when the time is right, I plan on asking your daughter to marry me. That time is today, right now. I love your daughter with everything in me. She’s my sun, the air I breathe, my moon, my everything.” Opie stopped what he was saying as he turned towards Mallory.

“I know that would mean a change of teams or a change of position, but I’ll make that move so that you don’t have to. I love you, Mallory. I want to wake up with you when we’re stateside, share our tears, our fears, and our laughter. I want to spend the rest of my life making you happy, begging for forgiveness when I make you angry, because we both know since I’m a male I’ll do that. You’re it for me. When you were kidnapped, it showed me what my life would mean if you weren’t in it and I don’t want to go through that hell again.”

Everyone gasped as Opie dropped to one knee and grabbed her left hand, “Mallory Hart, will you do the honors of making this miserable ole Marine the happiest man on the planet and become my wife?”

“Russell Adamson, are you sure you can handle me?” Mallory asked, tears streaming down her face.

“I will do my damndest, every damn day of our lives.” Opie answered, hope in his eyes.

“Yes! Yes! I’ll marry you!” Mallory shouted as she leaped into Opie’s arms after he stood up from the ground.

“About damn time!” Jep laughed as she patted Opie on the back and hugged Mallory when Opie put her down on the ground. “I’m so happy for you both!”

“Hey, where’s Diesel?” Sgt. Brocard asked her team as she looked around.

“She was just here a minute ago.” Raso answered, looking around the room.

“Something’s not right. She’s been acting weird since this Krieger guy’s name was mentioned and that Lester dude singled her out.” Rameriez spoke out before looking over towards the group laughing and talking loudly.

“York, you’re with me. Let’s run to the safehouse and make sure she didn’t go there. I’m worried about her.” Sgt. Brocard ordered, walking out of the waiting room.
