“No!” I yelled a bit louder than I intended to, along with everyone else at our table. We all burst into a fit of laughter, and Merc did too after he flipped everyone off. This man was irreplaceable, and I was glad I decided not to let fear rule.

Chapter

Twenty-Five

Merc

“Oh my God, baby.” Neo’s words were slurred.

“Shit,” I moaned.

With her feet by her ankles, I was nestled deep in her pussy. Her walls gripped me tight. Each deep, shaky breath she took made my body shudder. Neo’s lips and chin trembled as she unraveled underneath me. This time, I was unable to hold off, and I came right along with her.

Rolling off her, my chest heaved as I fought to catch my breath. If this was what I got after taking her on a date, I’d take her ass out every night. We’d gone to a cooking and wine pairing class that Antonne and Haley hosted and got a little wine tipsy. The moment we got to the house, she was all over me, and I had absolutely no complaints. Things between us had been perfect, and I knew they would only get better now that she was finally trusting me.

“You should move in,” I blurted.

She didn’t respond right away. A quiet snicker filled the air before she did. “Is that a post-sex declaration?”

“Yeah,” I admitted with no hesitation, causing us both to laugh. “I did want you to move in, but I wasn’t going to ask you to. I guess having such a good time with you this weekend made it difficult for me to hold it in. Plus, knowing you and Aries are building a bond and my little man is already crazy about you. He actually has a crush on you, and I’on wanna have to check him about that shit.”

Neo laughed and straddled me. She put me back inside her pussy, causing me to moan and bite down on my bottom lip as I gripped her waist.

“Why weren’t you going to ask me to move in?”

“Because I know you felt like you rushed moving in with Steven because of what he did for you. I didn’t want you to question if moving in with me would lead to the same thing.”

“Well, I…”

“I don’t want you to answer,” I interrupted her to say, pulling her down to my chest. “I want you to know that I want you here and that you can move in any time. It’ll be your choice. Whenever you’re comfortable, just come… and don’t ever leave.”

“Mm… I love the sound of that, baby.” Her hand cupped my cheek, and she connected her lips with mine, moving against my still hard dick in the process. Pulling my hands behind my head, I relaxed and allowed her to take control, knowing I would enjoy every fucking second of it.

“I think I should move out.”

At the sound of Aries’s statement, I lifted my head. I’d just finished helping Marz with his homework. Now, she was about to get him ready for dinner, which we’d eat together. We didn’t always eat together, but since she’d cooked a large pot of spaghetti and fried fish, she invited me to join them. She’d tasked Marz with picking out what pajamas he wanted to put on, and I certainly wasn’t expecting her to say that when we were alone.

“You want to move out?” I repeated. She nodded. “Okay, but why?”

“It’s time, Merc. Your relationship with Neo is getting serious. Even though she and I are establishing a bond, I don’t ever want her to feel like you do too much for me.”

“Aries, Neo understands that the promise I made to you was established before she even came into the picture. She’s not expecting me to stop taking care of you just because I’m with her.”

“I know that, and I appreciate that, but still. Eventually, y’all are going to get married and have more babies and I… I don’t want to be a burden, Merc.”

“Aries…”

“I know you say I’m not, and I know we’re a family, but be real. You can’t take care of me forever.”

“Yes, I can,” I replied with a chuckle. “I’m not going to force you to take my money, but you don’t have to move. I can see if you were living with me, but you’re not.”

Aries closed the space between us and took my hands into hers. “Tell me you don’t take as great care of me as you do because you feel like you failed in our relationship.” I couldn’t respond right away. “Tell me you don’t want me close because it allows you to still have the family dynamic you had growing up. Tell me that somewhere in that brain of yours, this isn’t your way of having me as your wife so you can give our son the two-parent household you had and you believe he deserves, and I’ll let you take care of me forever.”

I couldn’t say any of that because all of it was the truth. Because of the healthy upbringing I had with my parents, I wanted Marz to have the same. It broke my heart when Aries and I decided to break up, but I knew it was for the best. We were miserable, and I didn’t want Marz to pick up on that. Having them right behind my home was perfect because it felt like we lived together but still had space. So while I had absolutely no romantic feelings for Aries, she was absolutely right. It meant more to me than anything to give my son the upbringing he deserved, even if I had to stay single to do it. Now, I’d fucked around and fallen in love with Neo, and I couldn’t see my life without her.

“I can’t tell you that, Aries,” I admitted, causing her to smile and kiss my hands.

“I appreciate what you’ve done and will do for me and our son, but this is for the best, Merc. It won’t be immediate, but it’ll be by the end of the year. I know it would be silly of me to try and work now that I’m about to have another baby, but I do plan to put my tech background to use and find a work from home job. If it gets to be too much, I’ll come back to the suite, but I need to do this, Merc, for all of us.”
