GUILLAUME

I’d ridden into battle countless times, both as a knight and as a warhorse.

But I’d never carried my queen into battle on my back.

Yes, she’d ridden me a few times so I could protect her and keep her off the ground. But this wasn’t protection.

This was an open act of war.

And I’d never been more excited for battle in my very long existence.

Her bare legs hugged around my sides. Her hands fisted in my mane. Her magical hair streamed around us like black banners, tumbling over my hindquarters and trailing along the sand. The heat of her pussy seared my back through the tiny bikini. If I allowed myself to dwell on it, a black hole of throbbing need would suck me under a wave of lust.

My hooves thumped on the wooden boardwalk crossing over the low ground from the Isador house to the beach. Our section of coastline was exclusive enough only a handful of humans were present to stare, but stare they did.

:Showtime.:

I arched my neck and shifted to a prancing trot, lifting each hoof high. Gently rocking her on my back without jostling her up against my withers. She didn’t have any saddle to protect her delicate flesh or stirrups to help her balance. Nevarre and the crows circled overhead, cawing to draw even more attention as we hit the sand. Itztli bayed like a hell hound on my left, and Xin howled on my right. Even though the humans couldn’t see him, it added to the mystery.

Trotting down to the damp sand, I paused, letting her wave to her people boarding the yacht.

:Lean forward,: I told her. Then I reared, carefully controlling how far back I tipped so she didn’t lose her seat. Her legs squeezed me harder, the gripping sensation exquisite.

Screaming out a challenging neigh, I dropped to all four feet, tossing my head and prancing like I was completely out of control. Though she didn’t even jar her teeth together.

In our bond, she showed me the kraken blinking like a radar bleep to the northeast. Snorting and blowing like the mighty dragon, I trotted up the beach, throwing my hooves high and fast. Though not fast enough to keep the sand from melting beneath my smoldering hooves. I had to nicker out a laugh, wondering how the humans would explain the burnt hoof prints and chunks of glass on the news.

The further we went, the more humans we saw. Goddess, I’d never seen so many bodies crammed into a few square feet of sandy beach. Sunshades and umbrellas dotted the coast and people bobbed every foot or so in the water. The hardest part of reaching the kraken might be getting the people out of my way so I didn’t injure anyone.

Everybody seemed to have a phone too, snapping pictures and videos as we passed.

“Big bird.” A child pointed up at Nevarre’s giant bird flapping overhead. “Big bird chase.”

:Big bird my ass. Can I please fucking show myself?: Mehen asked in the bond.

She laughed. :Absolutely not.:

Someone else yelled, “Are they filming Lady Godiva?”

Laughing more, she shifted her delectable ass into a deeper seat. Letting go of her fierce grip on my mane, she stretched out her arms wide and let her head fall back. :I’ve got an idea.:

My ears flickered back and forth, listening for her command. Every inch of my hide zinged with awareness, determined to not let her slip an inch. Even if she wasn’t holding on with anything but her luscious legs wrapped around me.

Clouds boiled on the horizon and a dark thundercloud swelled over the water. Winds tore at her hair and my mane. The sky took on an eerie green tint, promising bad weather and lots of it. Ozone and the scent of rain filled my nose, so I quickened my pace to a gentle, rolling canter.

:Small jump,: I warned her then carefully popped over a sunburned young man passed out or asleep in the sand. She fell forward slightly but caught herself, her hands back in my mane where they belonged.

Lightning crackled across the sky, and people started to shift away from the water, giving me more room to maneuver without trying to dodge them. I didn’t want to fight the waves until it was time to swim, and sharp side-to-side movements would make it harder for her to keep her seat.

A particularly foolish man lunged closer, trying to touch her, as we passed. Itztli whirled around and knocked the man down with a hard shove. Snarling and frothing at the mouth like a rabid dog, he stood over the man, one big foot planted on his chest. Teeth bared, hackles rising, his muzzle an inch from the man’s face.

“Itztli.” She didn’t even look back over her shoulder. “Leave it.”

The black dog immediately loped after us. :I love that you called the idiot human an it.:

:Pretty sure he pissed himself.: Xin laughed. :He thought you were going to eat his face.:
