“Doubt it,” Allison remarked. “Share. You’re among friends.”

Among friends. Wow.

“I’m making him dinner tonight,” I admitted.

“Special occasion?” Mia asked.

“How can they have a special occasion?” Willa asked. “They just started going out.”

“More like staying in.” Sutton sniggered.

“No, it’s not a special occasion. I’m making him dinner just because. And I know how that sounds.”

“It sounds nice,” Willa said.

“It sounds domestic,” Rach added.

“No, what’s domestic is that he already has a toothbrush at my place,” I admitted.

Silence reigned at the table.

“And you’re not his Old Lady, right?” Sutton asked.

Darcy swirled the ice around her glass and took a healthy sip of her margarita.

Cash began to have a meltdown, interrupting the conversation.

“And we just became those people,” Rach said with a sigh. “Sorry guys, I’ve got to get him out of here. Darce? You ready?”

Darcy nodded, chugged the last of her drink, and then rose from the table.

At least Darcy had carpooled with Rach and she wasn’t driving. I wasn’t sure how she was even standing at this point, considering the amount of tequila she’d ingested without touching most of her food.

“See you guys later,” Rach said.

“This weekend,” Mia said.

“Yes, this weekend,” Rach agreed.

Darcy followed Rach and a screaming Cash out of the Mexican restaurant.

“What’s this weekend?” I asked.

“We’re getting together at my house for my informal baby shower,” Brooklyn said.

“I thought your shower was supposed to be a surprise,” I said in confusion.

“I spilled the beans by accident,” Sutton admitted, looking guilty.

“Brielle and Jazz are taking care of the food,” Brooklyn explained. “The girls are doing the rest.”

“No one sent me the link for the registry,” I said.

“There’s no longer a registry.” Brooklyn laughed.

“Why?” I looked at around at the amused faces of the other women.

“Because Slash already bought her everything she could possibly want,” Willa said with a giggle.
