Chapter Eleven

Ace

We have to stop getting distracted!” I groaned. I’d woken up at least twice to kiss her, one thing led to another, which led to a late shower again where we both scrubbed like we were in the military, then kissed, got distracted again, and you can see how it was all going.

Perfectly.

We were the last to show up at noon and we both probably looked as guilty as we felt; I mean guilty for being late, not guilty for all the sex.

“Hmmm.” Dustin tilted his head when we walked in. “You’re both flushed this morning.”

“We ran!” Bri said.

Dustin covered his ears. “Why is she yelling?”

“She likes a good pump, s-sir, sir Dustin, sir.”

“He’s not a knight, dumbass,” Bri said under her breath.

“Okay, Old Yeller.” I laughed at my own joke. “Get it Old Yell—“

Her hand hit directly below my spleen.

Dustin sighed. “Try to get along.”

“Yup.” I heaved. “We’re working on it.”

“At least six times a day, sir,” she said, mocking me.

“It was seven.” I corrected her.

She lifted her hand again. “Are you saying the elevator doesn’t count?”

“Wait, what did we—“

Her eyebrow arched. “And?”

“That, um…” Why was I suddenly nervous at her shoving her hand down my jeans while I felt her up before the doors opened? “We’ll give it a half point for effort.”

“Okay, Mr. I need to go change my—“

“—That never happened!” Liar! She was just trying to get a reaction.

She giggled behind her hand. “Your face just now is what I live for.”

“Yeah well, I live for that ass and it will be red once we’re back upstairs.”

“Promise?”

“Let’s just give up on the money.” I complained. “I’ll start dancing on stage like Magic Mike, I’ll sell myself on the streets, I’ll become a painter!”

She laughed and grabbed my hand. “You’re ridiculous.”

“You love me.” It slipped.

She froze.

Shit.
