He frowns.

I roll my eyes. “Would you like to check my ID?”

“Maybe I should?”

I lift my purse off the chair and pull my wallet out. “I’ll show you, just so you know you’re not going to get in trouble supplying a minor with alcohol.”

My license photo is cute, so I don’t mind showing it off.

“See.”

I fling the wallet at him, and as I do, a couple of receipts, a coffee card, and a condom packet fly out of the compartment. I keep forgetting to buy a new damn wallet.

I slap a hand over my mouth and say, “Shit.” When I scurry my hands forward to retrieve the offending item, he beats me to it. Rolling the damn thing around his knuckles as I die of embarrassment.

“I swear to God that was an accident,” I mutter between gritted teeth. “Give it back!”

“You think you’ll be needin’ this while you’re here?”

My cheeks flush. “I… I didn’t even realize that was even in there.”

His eyes darken as he continues to taunt me with it. “Sure, you didn’t.”

I roll my eyes. “I’m not sure it’d fit you, though,” I go on, trying to save face. I’m rewarded by a quirk of his eyebrow in that sexy way of his. “It’s not XXL.”

His lips twitch. “You caught that, huh?”

I lean forward. “I can’t say I’ve ever felt a dick that big before.”

He swallows hard. I love feeling like I make him squirm, even though he’s the one making me squirm. “You go around feelin’ a lot of dicks, do you?”

I shrug like it’s nothing. “I told you. I’m a good girl, Rock. I’ve only been with a couple of guys. I probably don’t know…the things you know.”

His jaw steels. He doesn’t like me mentioning anything about other guys, and I didn’t miss the glares he gave Manny when we embraced. I get the feeling that my personal bodyguard is a little possessive.

The idea that he’s jealous and wants me for himself is a fantasy I may have created in my head, but I have to keep myself entertained somehow.

“I don’t believe that for a second,” he mutters, shoving the condom in his top pocket.

“Hey, that’s mine! I want it back.”

“It’s mine now.”

I smirk. “Afraid I’ll use it?”

He leans closer to me. “Nope. You’re all talk, Trouble. Like I said, I know how girls like you work.”

I don’t back away. “You just have me all figured out, don’t you, Rock?”

“Pretty much.”

“Well, you should be so lucky.”

He takes a long breath. “There’s more than one way to shut that smart mouth up.”

Snatching my menu out of my hand, he leaves the table to go and order.

I turn and watch him leave, my eyes glued to his ass.
