“Tara?”
She slams the door and Rock turns, pulling out of me as I start to pull my dress back together.
“Shit,” I mutter. “I left her out there with Manny.” But how long was she standing there watching us?
“She’s a big girl. She’ll be fine. The door was closed behind us, so she decided to be nosy by openin’ it.”
Still, I feel…a little weird about it.“Can you zip me up?”
He does as I ask, and I kiss him chastely. “I have to go to her.”
Tucking his dick back in, he fastens his jeans, pulling his shirt back on, even though it’s covered in blood. His cut is next as I sort myself out, embarrassed that Tara saw what we were doing.
He takes me by the hand. “We’ll go together.”
I nod as he leads me out of the room.
Everyone is still around, and people are talking loudly as we rush through the crowd to try to find Tara.
She’s out near the front, looking around, probably for someone to take her back to the apartment.
“Tara?” I call out.
She spins around, her face annoyed and angry. “You just left me there, with those people!” she spits at me, her eyes flicking over my shoulder toward Rock who’s just behind me.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to… Manny…”
“You were bent over a desk, being fucked like a whore.”
Oh. My. God.
“Tara!”
“Now wait a minute…” Rock starts.
I shake my head. “No, Rock.” I go to her. “I’m sorry I left you. I didn’t mean to, Rock needed me and…”
“I needed you too. I don’t know any of those people, Aspyn. And then I find you being bent over a desk while he pounds the shit out of you covered in blood from God knows where! You people are all crazy!”
“I know, I’m sorry. We got lost in the moment.”
I feel Rock’s protective hands behind me, holding my hips.
“Not a great way to meet for the first time,” Rock admits. “But I closed the door for a reason.” His tone isn’t pleasant, and I turn to look over my shoulder.
“Uh, Rock, this is Tara… Tara, this is Rock.” I don’t know why I’m even bothering with introductions. It’s obvious who everyone is.
“Is this what you get up to?” she sneers. “Being treated this way? By him?”
“What way?” I say, my frustration growing. “I’m sorry I left you for five minutes. I get there was a lot going on when the guys came back, and for that, I’m sorry, but you could’ve just closed the door again. I mean…I’m a grown woman…”
“You told him you loved him?”
Holy shit.
I frown. “You heard that? How long were you standing there?”
I feel Rock’s grip tighten on my hips.
