Another warning from yet another coven?

First those Sabledown witches found us at our hotel, and now Windmere? How did they even know we were here? Did they follow us?

No. No way. We would’ve known if anyone followed us from the hotel. It’s not that easy to get the jump on vampires or witches, and we have both in our group. Hell, we have both in just me, alone.

They must’ve been out tonight and happened upon us, and this whole foreboding, “we come with a warning” act is purely theatrical. Bernadette told us the Windmere coven sticks to themselves and probably wouldn’t help or hinder our search for answers, yet here they are putting themselves right into the thick of it.

Maybe. We’ll see what they have to say.

I cast a glance at Jesse, and I can see the curiosity in his eyes. He’s not worried, merely wondering what it is these witches have to say. I look back at them and nod, encouraging them to get on with it. A few of them are still staring at me with open fear and revulsion, but the apparent leader stiffens her spine and takes a step closer.

She stares at me, unflinching. “We know you’ve been traipsing around Terremagie and the Grundelier village. That place is sacred to the covens of New Orleans, and we’ve been protecting the site since the Grundelier line died out. Do not go there again, or there will be consequences.”

“Is that supposed to scare us?” Steph asks, barking out a sardonic laugh. “You’re going to have to try harder than that.”

Ignoring Steph’s outburst, the witch keeps her gaze locked on mine. “You’ve been warned.”

With that, she lifts a hand and snaps her fingers. The entire group seems to float backwards as one cohesive unit, then, as if on command, spin and fall into a single-file line before disappearing through the exit.

“Well, that was certainly dramatic,” Steph deadpans.

“I don’t think we should discount the warning,” Erik says, stepping closer to Steph while his eyes scan the vicinity for any signs of imminent danger. “We should head back to the hotel.”

Steph opens her mouth to argue––I can see the obstinance in her expression––then snaps it shut as a sly grin curves her mouth. Reaching over, she grips Erik’s shirt in a tight fist and leans in closer to his chest.

“Are you in that much of a hurry to get me alone in our room, big guy?” she coos.

He responds with a stern look, but Steph remains unperturbed. He let his walls down while they were dancing, and if Jesse and I could see the softening of his defenses, there’s no way she didn’t feel it while in his arms.

“Erik is right,” I say. “We should head back.”

I’m agreeing with him, but not for the same reasons. The witches said what they wanted to say and left. I wouldn’t worry about them even if they came back for more. Between the pure vampire muscle, Jesse’s mental ability to control people’s actions, and the magic Steph and I possess, we’re a powerful bunch. Not to be messed with.

But I haven’t forgotten the orgasms Jesse gave me on the dance floor, and I’m eager to get him alone for more. Just the thought has my core clenching, and I hear Jesse inhale sharply beside me. He can smell it. He can smell my need for him.

Without a word, he takes my hand and leads me toward the exit. The others fall in behind us, and when we step out into the sultry Louisiana night air, I look over my shoulder to see Steph’s hand locked firmly inside Erik’s. She’s smiling beatifically, and I can’t help but smile, too.

Tonight, she might finally get what she wants.

I know I am, definitely.

The walk back to the hotel is uneventful, and after we say goodnight to the others in the hall, Jesse pulls me into our room and slams the door. Before I can blink, my back is against the wood and his mouth is sealed over mine. His tongue slides over my lips, commanding me to open. I comply, and Jesse groans as if he hasn’t tasted me in weeks.

His hands make short work of my clothes, pulling them off me and tossing them aside so his palms can glide over my bare skin. The back of my head bangs against the wood as his mouth moves to my breast, sucking my nipple roughly while a hand glides up my inner thigh. I widen my stance, and he growls against my chest as his fingers slide through my slick flesh.

“I need a taste,” he murmurs, then drops to his knees.

My body shakes with need as his tongue slides over my slit. Jesse’s hum of approval vibrates through my core, and a whimper escapes me when his tongue finds my clit. My palms press against the door behind me for support as each of my nerve endings ignite. I’m panting, and if my heart could beat, it would be pounding out of my chest as my muscles start to tighten with an impending orgasm.

“Not yet,” Jesse says, moving his mouth to my inner thigh and nibbling lightly. “I want to feel you come all over my cock with your teeth buried deep in my neck.”

He’s on his feet in a flash, his mouth back on mine as he rips his own clothes off. I push my hands into his hair, gripping it and pulling viciously as our tongues tangle in a never-ending dance.

Jesse’s hands grip my ass, hoisting me up before pushing me down onto his cock. I sigh with relief as he fills me, curling my legs around him while his weight pins me to the door. He grunts and pistons his hips, stroking his cock deep inside me so quickly, I have no choice but to hold on and take it.

“So hot and tight. So perfect,” he murmurs against my lips. “Your pussy was made for my cock, my love.”

The orgasm I was chasing earlier builds back up with a vengeance, and I know I’m not going to last more than a few more seconds. I want Jesse to come with me. I need it. To feel his love and desire explode inside me while my own body constricts and releases around it.
