I have one last idea.

"What if the door has more than one way to open?” I jump up, and everyone turns their heads to my voice. “I have a secret door in my closet at home. What if Roger had the same type of room designed for an easy way to access his videos?" Their faces range from shock to excitement.

"Stunning. I told you, love, you aren't full of useless thoughts and knowledge. You're simply full of random shit that could one day be the difference between life and death." Tyr picks me up by my waist and swings me around in a circle. Caleb and Kiyanna laugh and hold each other tightly.

We will live. We will get out.

We split up into pairs, searching the rooms that we’ve already been in. We’re looking for anything new, anything hidden, anything that can help us get out.

"I hate this room, but at least it isn't the torture room." I shudder while speaking to Tyr. We’ve just walked into the video room.

"Yeah, I know, love. The sooner we figure this out, the sooner we can get out. Hopefully, your hunch is right, and we can find a hidden door."

I make my way over to the mattress and bend over to grab it. Using what little muscles I have left, I flip it so it stands on end. I see that there is nothing underneath; no trapdoor, no handles sticking out, just the floor.

"Well, it's not here," I sigh, already wanting to give up. I drop the mattress and throw my hands onto my hips. "I've never seen Roger use anything in here other than the chest…"

I glance over to the chest that Roger got into to retrieve the cane. A smile takes over my face.

I make my way to the chest, and using my hand, I point to the pocket on Tyr's robe that holds Roger's keys. He comes closer and hands them to me. Upon fitting the key into the lock, I notice the decor painted onto the trunk.

Worn, hand-painted roses decorate the entire chest. Little green leaves adorn in some spots. It’s beautiful, and it must be at least eighty years old.

Putting the key into the lock, I twist slightly to the right. The chest opens and reveals that inside are many different items; canes, floggers, whips, and even a bar that has cuffs attached to it.

Grossed out and coming up empty, I close the lid of the trunk. Disappointed, I turn the key to relock it. All of a sudden, a hidden door from the wall behind the mattress opens, and I realize that I turned the key to the left.

"You were right, my love." Tyr beams beside me, staring at our freedom.

Mainland

After the door opened, we called in the others and found out that it was in the security room. As we all stepped in, we noticed cameras, computers, keyboards, and switches covering every inch of the walls. Tyr sat in the lonely chair in front of the main monitor, flicking and fiddling with different switches until we heard the exterior doors open. We breathe a collective sigh of relief as Tyr finds a radio and calls for help. Not knowing where we were located was a little tricky, but once we talked to the Coast Guard, they eventually figured it out and came to our rescue.

Once we all found our way to the Mainland, we realized we were all correct. Roger held us captive off the coast between the Florida Keys and Cuba.

Tyr never let me stray too far from him, keeping my hand clutched in his. None of us will be the same because of what Roger put us through.

The four of us were questioned by detectives for hours, and our stories matched. They contacted our families while they transferred us to a local hospital. I put up a fight with the nurses when they tried to separate me from Tyr, and they eventually relented.

"Oh, shit, baby girl!" Aimee comes running to the side of my hospital bed and throws herself on top of me, sobbing. I try to hold back my tears for a moment but can't resist.

"Oh, Aims! I've been so fucking worried about you! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to leave you on the beach, I didn't know. I knew you were sleeping, but-," I blurt, trying to get my thoughts out all at once.

"Oh, shut up, of course you didn't know! Now stop talking and let me hug you!" Aimee and I hold our bodies together in the longest embrace. When Aimee lets go, she shifts her body off of mine and forces me to make room for her. She doesn't notice Tyr in the bed next to me until she's comfortable. Turning her focus towards him, she scrunches her face and turns her attention back to me.

"Uhm, hi," she says, wiping the tears from her face and fluffing her hair.

Shoving her by the shoulder, I grin and blush. "This is Tyr. I wouldn't be here without him." I reach my hand to his outstretched one. Our beds are close enough together that we can hold hands comfortably.

"Oh, shut your mouth, you were the one who got us out." He winks at me and gives me his knowing smirk.

"I think I like him. I guess he can stay. He knows when to tell you to shut up…I like that." Aimee reaches over me and shakes his other hand while smiling.

After Aimee leaves, Tyr gets out of his bed and into mine. I wiggle around, letting him fill the empty space that’s beside me.

"I want you to move in with me," Tyr says. My mouth hangs agape. Speechless, I stare into his blue eyes. "I know it's fast, and I know we don't really know each other, but I made a vow. I told you I didn't want to let you go, and I don't plan on breaking that anytime soon. We have been through so much, and the physical pain may be over, but the healing and mental shit will never stop. I don't want to do that by myself. Call me selfish, but I want you by my side. I love you. You're mine. You're my Supernova."
