“That’s why you’re the rich boss and I’m the secretary,” Alexa commented. “There is a difference between excellent work and perfect work. For the most part I’m just happy with excellent as long as my boss pays me all the same.”

“I like perfect work,” Gary pointed out. He then smiled at her, “I’m the perfectionist.”

Alexa shrugged back, “My excellent work is better than everybody else’s definition of perfect.”

“And yet still single,” he cut in. He glanced at her as he took a right turn. “How is the perfect girl still single? Is every guy boring or scared of approaching you?”

She caught him glancing at her as he drove and it brought a wrinkle of a smile, “Both, I guess. The smart ones try to impress but they end up falling short and the good hot ones are too scared to talk to me or get into something serious.”

“You’re a girl that lives on the edge,” he told her. “I think I know what can spark some fire in your eyes.”

“You can be the richest billionaire on the planet – which you might be, as a matter of fact – but all that cash isn’t going to buy me what I want,” she promptly stated.

Gary waved a finger in denial, “I’m not saying I can buy your attention. You’re not a cheap whore or anything.”

Those were some strange words to say to a secretary, especially on the first night out following a party celebrating an old man’s retirement. At least he said she wasn’t a cheap whore.

“So what am I?”

“You’re a girl on top of the world. You need a firm hand. You need a man who can pin you down and take you places you wouldn’t normally risk stepping into. You need to surf the dangerous life.”

“That sounds interesting,” she had to admit. They were finally in her neighborhood and just a few blocks away from her home. “Would you care to show me this dangerous world when we get together in the office?”

Gary did not immediately reply. He just smiled and kept his silence as he slowed down and followed her hand gestures to find her place. When he finally parked in front of her driveway he turned to her and said, “We’ll need to go to my other office in order to fully explain.”

Chapter Four

“Here are the documents you requested,” Alexa told Gary a few days later as she handed him a stack of papers. “I got the petition files you asked for yesterday and all the records of the elderly patients in that hospital from downtown are in there too.”

He looked up from his computer screen and smiled back at her, “Thanks. That was quick.”

“I just don’t like sitting by idly,” she replied.

“Well, we still have an hour before we can leave this place. Care to spend it here with me?”

Alexa shrugged and took her business coat off, placing it on top of a spare chair next to his desk. She then dragged it beside him and sat there with Gary, “I got nothing better to do. So, are you going to let me in?”

“In on what?”

She nudged him with her elbow, “You know, that dangerous life thing you mentioned that night after the party.”

His eyes lit up with excitement. He then looked around the office, “You don’t think anyone is going to walk in here, right?”

“Not without calling my desk number first,” she told him. “My extension comes before yours.”

“Good, scoot up here.”

Alexa grabbed her seat and inched closer to him. She watched patiently as he took out a key from his wallet and fumbled with his desk drawers. It took him a while but she waited quietly. As he moved around she couldn’t help but notice he had a tattoo hiding underneath his collar, at the back of his neck. She could also tell he was pretty muscular judging by the way his clothes rippled and folded around his body. It almost got her excited to see what he looked like without his suit on.

“Here,” he whispered as if he was keeping a deep, dark secret. He unlocked the bottom-most drawer and after fumbling about for five minutes he pulled something out. It wasn’t exactly what she thought it would be.

Alexa expected a condom. She expected a skimpy dress he’d make her wear. She expected a bottle of champagne or lacy underwear or a sex toy. Instead, he pulled out a black blindfold and handcuffs with pink fur.

Her jaw dropped.

“Never worn these, before?” he asked.

Alexa shook her head. “Never met a boy as bad as you.”
