His voice was deep and cracking with emotion, and whether Noah was going to shoot me or not, I hugged Eli’s neck and kissed his pretty head. “Thanks, brother.”

Joel slapped the table and proclaimed, “Glad that’s done! Let’s mosey home and fuck.”

“Mosey, yes, let’s,” Damon said, laughing.

And we did, tying our boy to the bed and fucking him until our legs cramped and we were both exhausted. Joel, well he’s Joel. He could have gone five more rounds but was good to let us off the hook and let us sleep.

The next day was when Xen was arriving, and he was pumped for it. Damon woke me up at eight for breakfast, one that Joel made, full of carbs. “Pancakes, or what he calls, griddle cakes, and eggs and toast.”

“Pancakes and toast both? We really need to get our gym up and running.”

“With Joel around, what for? I’m so fucking sore this morning from the last two nights.”

I moved then and felt it. All the muscles in my body were screaming. “God, he’s gonna kill us. Can you imagine if we were one guy?”

“I’d handle it fine,” he boasted. “But I’m amazing that way, a lot of stamina.”

“Right. I forgot, you’re flawless.”

We ate at the table while Joel bounced on the bench seat, talking a mile a minute about Xen’s coming. “He texted me, wants me to he’p ‘im. I’m gonna clean ‘is brushes and bring ‘im paint.”

“You’re so excited he’s coming. I’m glad, Joel,” I said to him.

Damon added, “Sorry about the no fucking part. It wouldn’t be fair, with him right upstairs, and you unable to keep quiet.”

“I was quiet in the motel!”

“Not really, but then again, none of us were. When Burke and I checked out, we got some strange looks.”

Joel giggled relentlessly at that. “Oh, hell! I bet!”

Damon was rushed out the door by Joel to go feed and tend the horses, and I volunteered to clean the kitchen and that was a huge chore. Joel could cook well, but there was pancake mix everywhere, batter dripped all over the counter and toast crumbs sticking to the batter.

Once that was done, I went to the barn, meeting the contractor, Devlin. “Burke, how are you?”

“Great! Better when we got home to see this. You guys are doing a hell of a job.”

“Remember that for online reviews, and that’s thanks enough for us. Well, besides the enormous bill!”

“Ugh, don’t remind me. But, seriously, it’s worth it.”

“We’ll have the barn done this week, the guesthouse a week from that, the tiny house kits, then we’ll start in your house. I had some ideas, if you have time to go over them later.”

I was giddy. “I would love to hear them! We have a guest coming, the one I told you that was painting the mural.”

“Great! And, if he wants, I have some sealant that would be perfect over it.”

“I’ll let him know.”

I found Joel and Damon in the stable making out and I watched for a minute, loving the two of them, heavy kissing. Damon pressed Joel to the wall, Joel’s shirt untucked so Damon’s hands could touch the skin of his waist.

Damn, it was a lovely sight, but I had to mess with them. “So, is this what you guys mean by tending the animals?”

Damon pulled back, and Joel slipped a little, looking woozy. Damon answered me in that incredulous way, like I should have known the answer. “Yeah! We’re fucking animals. We gotta tend each other.”

“Wooweee,” Joel gasped. “This boy can kiss, now!”

“Thanks, you’re not so bad yourself.”
