Denis steps into the hall and comes back with two other men flanking him. The three of them surround James.

I point the knife at him. “As per the terms of our contract, if you can’t pay the debt, your life becomes mine.”

“I thought you were going to forgive last month's payment,” he says, stammering and stuttering over his words.

“I am, but this is about what comes next. If you could not make this payment in full, how can I believe that you’re ever going to make another?”

He clutches his hands tighter together. “What are you going to do to me?”

My shoulder rises and falls. “Organs sell well. Unfortunately, your lungs are of no use, but I should be able to harvest the rest. It will send a message to those who think they can take advantage of me the way you have.”

“Please.” James slides off the recliner and gets to his knees, clasping his hands together. “You don’t have to do this. Please. I’ll find a way to fulfill our deal. Please, I just need a little more time.”

Denis glances at the other two men before jerking his chin at James. “Tie him up and take him to the car.”

“Stop!” A woman runs into the room, her raven-colored hair hanging loose around her shoulders.

Big chocolate eyes make her look like a doe caught in the headlights. Her breathing is rapid as she stoops beside her father. She whispers something, wincing when he shakes his head.

My eyes narrow as I recognize her. I’ll be damned!

My Anna.

She must be his daughter. Now that I’m seeing the two of them together, it’s clear that the resemblance is there.

I can use this to my advantage and get everything I want. Ha, this is easier than I thought.

She spins and looks at the men before turning to me. “You? … Please. Don’t do this. My father is a sick man. You don’t have to do this.”

I stand up and walk over to her, taking in the linen shorts and crop top clinging to her fucking sexy body. “What are you willing to give me for your father’s life?”

“Anna, no!” James thrashes against the men as they loop the rope around his body. It is no use; his body is too weak to shove his way out of the binds. “No. Go back to your room and shut the door. Lock it and don’t come out until they’re gone.”

I crouch down in front of James, looking him in the eyes. “If your daughter is willing to save your life, you should let her.”

“No. Spare her, please. She has nothing to do with this. Please, just let her go.”

Sighing, I stand as my men finish tying him up. “Organs or daughter, James. Those are your choices. I’ve been a patient man until now and I will continue to be for the next week. You’ve just used up your last bit of goodwill.”

Anna glares at me, tears shining. “You’re a monster.”

“Won’t you give yourself up for your father, angel?” I whisper as I stop in front of her, running my fingers along her jaw.

She flinches backward, her fiery glare sending a wave of amusement through my body.

If she thinks that there is a way to escape me, especially now that I’ve had her, she has another thing coming.

I’m not going to lose her now that she’s within my grasp.

One way or another, Anna is going to be mine.

Fear polishes her eyes as I grab her chin and force her to keep looking at me.

“I should warn you,” I say, my tone low. “That if you try to run or call the police, I will hunt you down and kill you.”

She is terrified. Tears she can’t control slip down her cheeks.

Good. I like it when she’s scared.
