Natalie rolls her eyes, a good-natured grin stretching her mauve-painted lips wide. “Thinking about that hot passenger again?”

Warmth floods my cheeks. “I might have been.”

“Well, lucky for you, I still don’t know the name of this mystery man.” She sits down across from me, sipping her smoothie.

Even though we’ve been friends since high school, I don’t get to spend a lot of time with Natalie anymore. Trying to balance three jobs while maintaining friendships is almost impossible, but Natalie understands what I’m up against.

It’s why I feel so terrible for not listening to her.

“Sergey.” I take a sip of the chocolate peanut butter smoothie as I try to remember his last name. Though he never told me what it was, I saw the flight logs after all the passengers had gotten off. “Sergey Orlov.”

The color drains from Natalie’s skin as her eyes bulge out of her head. “Excuse me? Say that name again so I can make sure that I heard you right?”

My eyebrows pull together. Even though there are people in the smoothie café, it isn’t overly loud. The jazz music is soft, and most people speak in hushed tones.

“Sergey Orlov.” I pick at the muffin she put down in front of me, ripping the top from the bottom. “Why? Do you know him?”

Natalie’s smile weakens. Her lips press together as she grabs a napkin from the pile next to us and begins to tear it to shreds. “Yeah, that’s what I thought you said.”

The hair on the back of my neck stands on end, and I have a queasy feeling in my stomach. “What’s wrong?”

Natalie shakes her head. “It should be nothing to worry about as long as you stay away from him. You do plan on never going near him again, don’t you? I mean, he seduced you at work and then he left you alone to deal with the consequences.”

“There weren’t any consequences—other than my pride taking a hit when he left without a word.”

I scowl down at the muffin before popping a piece into my mouth.

Though I don’t know what I had been expecting when the plane landed, Sergey walking through the door and leaving me in the lounge without so much as a goodbye, wasn’t it. He had most likely forgotten about me as soon as he got off the plane.

Was he only interested in fucking me once and then never seeing my face again? How many flight attendants has he fucked before me on his private plane? Is this just a sport for him?

Stop thinking about it. He was a one-time fling.

Natalie sighs and slumps forward in her chair. “It has nothing to do with him leaving you. Hell, you should be grateful that he did.”

“What do you mean?” Blood whooshes in my ears as I look at her.

I’ve never known Natalie to be dramatic and she isn’t one to mince her words either. Now that she is, there must be something bothering her.

“Sergey Orlov is a dangerous man. You should do everything you can to stay away from him. If you ever see him, you need to run. Run far and fast.”

I rub my temples, a headache already starting. “Natalie, you’re not making any sense. What the hell is so dangerous about him? Sure, he carried a gun, but that’s nothing new for some of the rich men I fly with. Most of them carry licensed guns.”

Sure, he seemed like he had a hot temper, but I thought it had to do with passion.

He was ruthless in the way he took me, but I had been begging for more by the end of our time together, just like he said I would be.

Would he be a man I would approach on the street?

No.

If he told me he wanted to fuck me again, would I follow him willingly?

Yes.

Is he the reason I bought a vibrator when I got back home?

Hell yes.
