“Oh… Those. Yes. But I’m thinking I could forgive most of them.”

He nuzzles his nose against my cheek. “You like the man part.”

I can’t hide my giggle. “I do like your man parts.”

“I knew you did. Little screamer.”

My face instantly burns. “You do it to me.”

His eyes fill with heat and pride. “I’m glad I get you off like that.”

“Well, you should be proud. I swear, sometimes, I think I might die from ecstasy.”

He skims his open mouth along my neck. “My sweet, sexy Simona, I want you…”

A little shiver races down my spine. “Mmmm. I like the sound of that.”

His warm fingers slide below my sweater and skim along the top of my jeans. My body starts to undulate on its own as his fingers graze, and knead, and do delicious things to my skin.

Eyes closed, I drift into a blissful state of arousal. God, I love his touch.

“You haven’t promised me what I asked you to yet.”

My eyes flip open. He’s staring right at me in the mirror. “That was evil. Low. Conniving.”

He dips his hand down, presses the heel of his palm against my mound. “All’s fair in love and war, my dear. You know this.”

I close my eyes again as pleasure overtakes me. The heat of his hand sears through my jeans and makes my pussy pulse with need. “Okay. I promise.”

“Look at me. Say it while you look at me.”

Opening my eyes again, I hold his gaze in our reflection. “I promise you I won’t put myself in harm’s way unless it’s protecting the people I love.”

He grunts, “I swear. You’re the most challenging woman I’ve ever met.”

I smile, “Jameson, you’d never be happy with a boring woman. That’s why no one caught you before now.”

He grabs my ass in his palm. “God help me. I have a feeling I’m in for a long, hard road.”

I reach back and wrap his thick cock in my palm. “Amen to long and hard.”

We barely make it to the bed. But it’s perfect. I wouldn’t want it any other way. And when I fall asleep, I’m in bliss knowing he’s beside me. Protecting me. Loving me.

Yep. I just thought the L word.

CHAPTER FORTY-THREE

Morning comes too fast. I don’t want to let her get dressed. Or let her go. But time’s up. When we walk into the other hotel room, Mako’s tapping on his laptop at the small desk, his face in a hard scowl. “Alright. I just need a few of photos of you, Wolf.”

He pulls out a cell phone as Wolf walks over. Mako stands and takes a frontal face shot, then zooms in on his cheek, catching an image of the birthmark. “Now, hold this paper up so I can capture the headline.”

Wolf rolls his eyes and mutters. “We still have to do this? I know we do, but I mean, you’d think in this decade we’d have some other way of providing a date stamp. I know digital date stamps can be altered, but sheesh. Bloody last century bullshit. What happens when papers go away for good?”

Mako grumbles as he angles for another photo. “Tell me about it, I had to walk five blocks to find a newspaper stand.”

When the photos are done, both men go back to work on their laptops.

“So, what’s the timeline?” Simona asks.
