When we got back out in the common room after I claimed her, everyone clapped and cheered for us. Lyric’s face turned several shades of red before the ol’ ladies of the club whisked her away from me and took her into the kitchen with them to work on preparing the food for our cookout celebration. They even took the new girl in with them. Though that didn’t happen before I noticed my brother, Hawkeye, staring at her from across the room. Has he finally laid eyes on a woman for himself? Or is he going to be just as fucking stubborn as always and let her slip through his fingers because he doesn’t trust outsiders? Hawkeye needs a rude awakening and I have a feeling Tara is going to be that for him.

We’ve been meeting on a regular basis to go over everything Goose is digging up on the Stone Devils MC. What he’s found so far is enough to make my stomach roll and the need to take them all out this very second fills me. They’re involved in everything we’ve already cleared out of Cedar Bay. The drugs, trafficking, kidnapping women to keep for themselves or to sell off to the highest bidder. You name it, these fuckers are involved in it. The only reason we can figure they want Cedar Bay as their home is because of the waterway. There may not be a lot of traffic on the water, but they can certainly use it to their advantage when they want to transport a load of unwilling women, men, and kids. Yeah, they don’t give a fuck who they take as long as they can make money off them. There’s even rumors of them selling off their own fucking kids. Fucking cock sucking motherfuckers!

Every single man in this club wants to rage out against them. Not a single one of us will tolerate that shit being done to anyone. I don’t give a fuck if we know the person or not. No one deserves to be treated that way. Now, we have to make sure they don’t get their hands on Lyric and Paige. The thought of what they’d do to them absolutely terrifies me. My ol’ lady will never know about this shit if I can help it. Though she’s fucking head strong and as stubborn as Hawkeye. If something happens, then I have no doubt in my mind that she’ll take matters into her own hands and do something to stop these stupid fucks. I won’t let that happen. Even if it takes locking her in our room at the clubhouse.

Today, I have to go out and look around Cedar Bay and the surrounding area for any sign of the stupid fucks. We still have no clue where they stay or where they even came from. Venom even reached out to Vault since he’s been working with the Phantom Bastards Nomads until recently. None of them have heard of this club and it makes me wonder if it’s even a club or just a bunch of douche canoes using a motorcycle club as a front for their dirty jobs. It honestly wouldn’t surprise me. And it certainly wouldn’t be the first time a group of men pretended to be a motorcycle club in order to hide their dirty dealings. They rarely ride their bikes if they have one at all, and go from one town to the next destroying everything in their path before moving on.

Venom will also be reaching out to other clubs we’ve heard of in the past. We know the Phantom Bastards have worked with the Satan’s Anarchy MC, Jameson belongs to the Fallen Brethren MC and we can reach out to them, there’s the Knight’s Rebellion MC that we’ve heard of through a mutual contact, and a few others. If even one of these clubs has any information on the Stone Devils MC, I have a feeling a few of us will be heading to see them or meeting up somewhere in order to gain as much knowledge of these fuckers as possible. Right now, we’re just waiting for him to get responses from a few other contacts before he calls the clubs.

We’ve all been out searching for any sign the so-called bikers are in the area since Lyric got the call and we started getting information about them from Goose. Every single time we get knowledge of someone going missing, we immediately head out to ask questions and see what we can find out. No one has any knowledge of a group of bikers in the area though. That’s the common answer we get from everyone we talk to. These fuckers aren’t smart enough to pull this shit off on their own. If they were smart, they wouldn’t be using a woman to do a man’s job. At least that’s my way of thinking. Along with most everyone in the Wild Kings.

Today my parents should be arriving. My dad had to take care of a few things before they could leave Clifton Falls. To say he’s pissed as fuck would be an understatement. My dad is ready to rip Cedar Bay and the surrounding area apart with his bare hands. He wants to find these fuckers and gut them before sending them off to hell where they belong. At this point, none of the other parents are coming down with him so we don’t draw suspicion to what we’ve been trying to do. If at any point we believe we need them here, they’re all prepared to make the trip and have our backs. It’s what they’ll always do because family means everything to them and there’s no reason they won’t ensure our family is protected at all costs.

“Kevlar, are you okay?” Lyric asks, walking up and wrapping her arms around me from behind.

“Just thinkin’, princess. There’s a lot goin’ on. How are you doin’?” I ask her, placing one of my hands on hers.

“I’m okay. Just waitin’ for your parents to get here. It’s been a while since we’ve seen them and now our situation has changed. I don’t want them to be upset that you claimed me, Kevlar,” she says, letting me pull her to the front of me so I can pull her down into my lap.

“They’re not gonna be upset, princess. They already know I’ve claimed you and can’t wait to welcome you to the family. Hell, they even tried to talk Zoey into comin’ down to meet you but she said she had to study for finals or some shit like that. You’ll meet her soon though. She’s excited to meet you and your sister,” I promise her, my voice almost a whisper as Hawkeye and Ricochet walk up and join us.

“Are you headin’ out before Mom and Dad get here?” Hawkeye asks me, accepting the bottle of water Marco hands over to him and Ricochet.

“Before. I’ll be back in plenty of time to visit with them after dinner. I’ve gotta head out soon. You guys got Lyric?” I ask, staring my brothers down because my ol’ lady will be protected even at the clubhouse when I’m not at her side.

“Of course. You know Mom and Dad are gonna monopolize her time when they get here. I don’t foresee them leavin’ her alone unless she literally runs and hides from them. I won’t be here though,” Ricochet responds as he opens his water and takes a long pull from it.

“Paige has to work today?” Lyric asks him, looking around for her sister.

“Yeah. We’ll be leavin’ in an hour or so. Are you okay, Lyric?” he questions her as I wrap my arms around her tighter.

“Yeah. I just haven’t really spent any time with her since we got here. It’s like she’s hiding away from me and doesn’t want me around. Paige has never been like that with me before,” she answers, her voice almost a whisper as emotions fill her.

“I’m afraid that’s probably my fault more than yours,” Ricochet tells her as he leans back in the chair and rests his hands on the table in front of him. “She’s hidin’ out from me and not you. I don’t know what’s goin’ on with her, but every single time I try to talk to her, she races away from me. Since gettin’ here, she just stays in her room and rarely comes out to spend time with anyone else.”

“There’s a story as to why she’s like that, Ricochet. Please don’t take it personal. Paige has demons that haunt her on a daily basis. She’s been trying to beat them back for years and nothing she does works. There’s things she feels and believes because of one night that changed our lives forever. That’s all I can say about things, Ricochet. The story isn’t mine to tell,” Lyric says, her voice wavering as a lone tear slides down her face.

I know something happened to the girls before she met Kasey. Lyric has shared that they were involved in a car accident with their dad and he died. She also told me all about her injuries and what she went through after the accident. What she didn’t tell me was what happened to Paige. I don’t even ask because if she wanted me to know, she’d tell me. I have no information to give to my brother as I look across the table at him to see him practically pouting as he tries to figure out what’s going on with Paige.

“Walk me out to my bike?” I ask Lyric as I help her stand from my lap and keep her hand in mine.

“Of course,” she responds, walking out of the common room with me and straight to my bike.

“You’ll be safe here. My parents will keep you occupied until I can get back here. Tonight I think we’ll see if they wanna go out to dinner with us so they can see Paige at the diner. I know they want to see her just as much as they want to see you. I’ll see you soon, princess,” I tell her, straddling my bike and pulling her into my side.

Lyric leans up and kisses me deeply. She doesn’t hold anything back and gives me every emotion and ounce of passion she has. I groan in response as my cock hardens in my jeans. Not exactly the best way to ride my bike, but I don’t care. When Lyric finally pulls back, she’s breathless and almost panting.

“I love you, Shawn. I know it’s probably too soon to tell you that. However, I don’t want to hide how I feel toward you and hide away like my sister is when it comes to Ricochet. I didn’t dream I’d ever find a man like you who would want me. Now, I’m not gonna ever let you go. You’re stuck with me for the rest of our lives,” she tells me as I stare down at her with shock and love filling me.

“I love you too, princess. You’re on my mind every second of the day and I dream of you every single night. There’s no other woman I’ll ever want because you completely fuckin’ consume me. It’s not too soon either, Lyric. I’ve been fallin’ for you more every day since we met months ago,” I tell her honestly as I pull her back in for another kiss.

What I really want to do is get off my bike and take her to our room so I can worship her body properly. For now, we’ll have to wait until later so I can show her how much I truly love her. We’re both breathing heavily when we break apart this time and I can’t stop the smile breaking out on my face as I take in Lyric’s swollen lips and the dazed look in her eyes. So fucking sexy.

“Come back to me safe and whole,” she tells me, running her fingers through my thick hair and messing it up.

Lyric loves running her fingers through my hair whenever she can. She always messes it up. If anyone else had ever gotten close enough to do this shit, I’d bite their heads off. When Lyric does it to me, I want to lay my head in her lap and never let her stop running her fingers through my hair.

Lyric steps back and watches me put my helmet on before I start my bike and rev the engine a few times. With one last look at Lyric, I pull out and head away from the clubhouse. I don’t allow myself to look back at my ol’ lady because I’ll want to do nothing more than turn around and be with her instead of out doing my job.
