I want this girl and I’m having a hell of a time curbing it.

HUDSON: Then maybe you shouldn’t lower your standards.

LIV: I have a fifty-dollar bet on this game that he’s not going to beat me. So, maybe you should warn him that not everything is what it seems.

I look over my screen to find her already looking at me before she gives me a playful wink.

HUDSON: That dude wants you to fork out fifty dollars if he wins? Sounds like a fucking prick.

LIV: No, he wants me to go out with him later and we both know what that means.

I begin typing out my response that she can’t really be that fucking stupid or desperate for dick when she beats me with another text from her.

LIV: Too bad he’s going to lose that fifty bucks.

HUDSON: You say that as if you know how to play the game and how to handle the stick.

LIV: I do.

HUDSON: I know you can handle a big cock, sweetheart. However, the game of pool takes skill. Not batting your eyelashes at it.

LIV: LOL.

HUDSON: Are you straight-hustling this fucker?

LIV: Damn straight.

I can’t help but actually be semi-proud.

And relieved.

LIV: Wanna go get something to eat afterward? It’s on me.

HUDSON: I need to drive these two fuckers home.

LIV: I thought you said you weren’t an Uber? Or was that just for me?

HUDSON: You’ve gotten more from me than they have in the last few days besides a paycheck.

LIV: That’s good to know.

Her turn comes up again and this time when she comes to the table, she pulls her long blonde hair back to rest on her spine. Her positioning of the stick is better as she aims and nails the maroon seven ball in the side pocket.

She does it for another two while Ryan gapes at her like a fucking idiot.

When she’s done with nothing but the eight ball left for her to sink in, she comes right back to me before shooting her shot.

LIV: What do you think?

HUDSON: I think you’re a little asshole for tricking that guy but I can’t say I’m mad about it.

LIV: Maybe he’ll think twice about judging a woman to be easy just because she came to the bar alone.

HUDSON: Why did you come to the bar alone?

LIV: Just wanted a drink and to get out of the house. Not to be harassed by dudes who want an easy lay.

HUDSON: You’re open season when you do shit like that.
