There was no doubt left in my mind anymore. The three men standing before me were John, Rafael, and Danny, the three boys I fell in love with as a young woman.

Callum’s reaction to them confirmed it.

Rage and hatred coursed through my veins as I stared up at Yakim. My eyes took in every thick line that marred his face. He used to be the most handsome among his brothers. Callum destroyed his beauty before sentencing him to die. How could my own brother do such a cruel thing?

It’s all because of me, I realized.

Callum did this to him because I kissed him that night.

All the words they said to me since they stole me ran through my head. This was the reason they felt so familiar when they called me “princess.”

A painful sob choked my throat. Whatever happened to me last night was Callum’s fault too. He was responsible for raising monsters out of the boys I loved so much.

“Give her back or I’ll fucking blow your heads,” Callum’s shout broke me out of my thoughts. “It’ll be me who pumps your brains with bullets. I’ll make sure you remain dead this time.” He held a pistol in his hand, pointing it directly at Mikhail who was closest to him.

To my astonishment, Mikhail laughed. “Look around you, asshole.”

Instinctively, I glanced around as well.

Several men had appeared all around us, each holding rifles that were pointed at Callum and his minions.

“Go ahead. Shoot,” said Leon. “You’ll end up dead before any of us.”

Callum’s face reddened with rage. His gaze swung toward me. “Get over here, Lucia!” he shouted. “Throw him off and come to me, darling. I’ll protect you.”

“N—”

Before I could say a word, a different voice spoke up.

“What’s all this shouting about?” said an annoyed female voice. “Is it too much to ask for peace and quiet while I do my morning yoga?”

A young woman appeared before us. Her long ebony hair was adorned with streaks of bright pink. She looked a couple of years younger than me and wore cute blue shorts with little red hearts on them.

Callum was quick to stomp toward her and grab her by the hair. “Let go of my sister or I’ll kill her,” he bellowed, thrusting the gun’s muzzle against her forehead.

“Oww! That hurts!” the girl cried out as he tightened his grip on her hair.

“Let her go, Callum!” I shouted. “It’s no use doing this. They won’t let you take me without killing us. You should go home and wait for them to let me go.”

“Who’s the broad?” the girl asked with a curious look.

“Mind your own business,” Mikhail hissed. “Who asked you to butt in our business?”

“This is my house too!” the girl hissed back.

The pretty, young woman didn’t seem afraid even though she was being held at gunpoint. Ignoring my brother, she continued arguing with Mikhail.

Utter respect bubbled inside me. I wished I could be as fearless as her before these dangerous men.

“Oi, motherfucker,” said the girl in a callous tone. “Wanna let me go or do I do it myself?”

“Stay quiet, bitch,” Callum barked. “I’ll fucking blow your hea—” A funny scream escaped my brother before he could finish threatening her.

He stood at an awkward angle while the young woman held him in a hold by his arm. His gun clattered to the floor.

“You were saying?” she asked, thrusting her knee into his back, forcing him on the ground.

The men surrounding Callum moved forward at once.
