“You’re mine now,” Callum’s voice slithered down my spine like an icy chill.

Yakim! Leon! Mikhail!I screamed their names silently, their faces rising in my mind.Help me!

“I’ll never let anyone take you away from me again,” Callum crooned in my ear. “I promise you, Luce.”

Yakim

I was talking to the Ivanov brothers when my eyes caught sight of Leon. The disturbed look on my brother’s face alarmed me at once.

“Please, excuse me,” I told my guests and moved away to meet him.

A desperate, helpless look came over Leon as he met my gaze.

“What’s wrong?” I asked in a low voice.

“Lucia.”

“What happened to her?” Anxiety wrapped around my throat at once, choking me. “Is she hurt?”

He shook his head. “I don’t know. She’s missing.”

“What?”

“I’ve already asked the guys watching the CCTV feeds to find her,” he said in a low, grim tone. “It’s already been half an hour and they’re yet to locate her.”

“Shit!” I cursed. “Where’s Mikhail?”

“He’s in the ballroom,” said Leon. “He’s still unaware of what’s happened.”

“Did you check her room? What about Lilja? Does she know?”

“Lilja’s been with the fucking Rossis all evening,” he muttered darkly. “She hasn’t seen Lucia after we separated.”

“Fuck.”

My mind whirred. With all the guests here, we couldn’t carry out a full sweep of the ground floor rooms.

“Tell them to search every place on the upper floors,” I instructed. “In the meantime, I’m going to find out about the people who’ve come here and left. That should help.”

“Excuse me, Mr. Volkov,” an unfamiliar female voice called out uncertainly.

Both Leon and I turned around. A young woman with large brown eyes stared between us with fearful eyes.

“Yes?”

Her gaze fell on me and immediately she recoiled. She swallowed hard, struggling to get over her revulsion of me. “I’m Emilia,” she blurted. “I’m Antony Marco’s daughter. We came together but I can’t find him anywhere. Could you help me, please?”

Leon and I stared at each other and back at the timid woman before us.

“Wait here,” I told her. Grabbing Leon’s arm, I dragged him to a quieter corner.

“Tell Mikhail to keep an eye on things here and come meet me in the security room,” I told Leon. “We should start with finding out what happened to Marco.”

“Yeah,” he muttered darkly. “I’ll kill him if he’s touched her. I swear to you.”

I gave a nod and headed out of the room.
