“The fuck, dude,” Leon muttered.

“You could’ve been a little more sensitive,” said Mikhail. “She’s upset you drove her new friend away.”

“You’re shameless,” Leon grated through clenched teeth. Glancing at me, he added, “Hewas the one who thought that guy was a creep.”

“Hey, how about we get you a drink?” Mikhail said, smoothly changing track.

“You’ll get me anything I want?” I asked with narrowed eyes.

“Whatever makes our girl happy.”

Our girl...I liked the sound of that.

“I want what that green stuff that lady’s drinking,” I whispered and gestured at a table in the distance.

“A Grasshopper?” Mikhail asked.

“Huh?”

“That green stuff?” said Leon with a chuckle. “It’s called a Grasshopper.”

“Please tell me they don’t actually add ground-up grasshoppers into that?” I groaned. “But wait!” I said, putting up a hand. “I’ll drink it even if it does have grasshoppers in it. Who knows when I’ll get a chance to come to a club again?”

“Do you have to sound so sad, Princess?” said Leon, pulling me into a hug.

I buried my face in his chest and inhaled his scent. Wasn’t I mad at him just a second ago? What magic was he spinning on me?

“Come on,” said Mikhail bracingly and plucked me away from Leon. “Let’s go back to our seat and order some food. They serve some amazing steak here.”

I let him lead me back to our table.

Within minutes of being with Leon and Mikhail, I forgot all about my short exchange with Casey. They gave me a break and bickered between themselves. Their effort to make me smile made it easier to forgive them.

Excitement flooded me when our drinks finally arrived. The Grasshopper was a bright green drink served in a martini glass.

Leon and Mikhail watched me as I took my first sip.

“This is delicious,” I said, loving the strong mint and chocolate flavor. “It’s like a milkshake for grownups.”

They chuckled.

“Can I have one more?” I asked, sipping eagerly.

“Sure, but first, have something to eat,” said Leon in a grim tone. “We can’t have you drunk and hanging off our bike. Yakim will kill us if we don’t take you back in one piece.”

I smiled to myself. It was no secret they wanted me as much as I yearned for them, but could we ever get past the shitty mess Callum made?

The next few hours passed by in a blissful haze. I watched people dancing and fooling around from my vantage point while enjoying the drinks and food they ordered. As Mikhail said, their steaks were melt-in-the-mouth good and served with the most luscious wine sauce.

“I need to use the restroom,” I said when the food was licked clean off my plate.

“I’ll come with you,” said Leon at once.

“What?”

He shrugged. “You could be planning to make a run.”

“I’m not.”
