Leon looked ravishing with his wild, flaming-red hair falling into his amber eyes. Mikhail’s jacket and the black wifebeater underneath showed off his broad pecs and the tattoos covering his skin.

Their dark, wicked grins could get any girl to fall in lust with them.

The thought made me feel doubly self-conscious.I hope I don’t look like a dork, I thought nervously as Leon moved forward to grab me by the waist and kiss me.

Locked in a kiss with Leon, I felt Mikhail’s presence behind me. His hands held onto my shoulders as he pressed kisses to the side of my neck.

I moaned into Leon’s mouth as Mikhail cupped my breasts over my shirt and squeezed. A heady feeling consumed me as the heat from both their bodies seeped into mine.

“I’m having second thoughts about taking her,” Mikhail said in a low, gruff voice. “Just look at her.” He gestured at me. “She looks eighteen and virginal. Too many sick mofos are walking around town and preying on girls like her.”

“No way,” I scoffed. “There’s no way I look young enough to be in high school.” Next moment, my attitude melted away. “Please, take me,” I said, showing my desperation to them. “I’ve been cooped here all week. Please?”

“Fuck,” Mikhail cursed and threw up his hands.

“Both of you, chill,” said Leon. The tip of his knife was suddenly pressed at the base of my throat. “Don’t try to run,” he said in a threatening tone. “If you make a scene in front of people there, I’ll cut your jugular. Understand?”

His warning sent a pang through me.

Leon seemed to detect my pain. “Standard warning, Princess,” he said, taking the knife away. “It’s better to remind you of the consequences than be forced to punish you.”

I gave a nod and looked away. They still didn’t trust me enough to think I’d stay by their side without them forcing me.

They led me out of the room and took me to the underground garage where they kept their cars and bikes. I waited for them while they geared up with helmets and gloves.

Moving close to me, Mikhail set a helmet on my head and latched the strap under my chin. He gave a light slap on my head and grinned.

I was about to automatically climb behind his bike when Leon’s voice stopped me.

“Did I hurt your feelings, Princess?” he asked, flashing me a grin. “Why don’t you come sit with me?”

“Leave her alone,” Mikhail muttered. “You’ve scared her enough already.” Glancing toward me, he gestured at me to take the seat behind his bike.

I hurriedly clambered over Mikhail’s bike. Leon’s threat was something I was already used to. The only reason I chose to ride with Mikhail was my familiarity with his motorcycle.

All my sadness and desperation fell away as Mikhail’s bike took off. I breathed in the cold night air and looked up at the starry sky, feeling like a bird who was flying.

Leon’s bike was right beside Mikhail’s as we flew down the nearly empty highway. My hair streamed behind me in a gust of wind and dust, making me enjoy the ride fully.

It took us almost an hour to reach downtown Ashville.

I greedily soaked up the sight of nightlife on Oakland Avenue. The highly popular street was teeming with activity this late in the evening. People talked and laughed as they waited in queues outside the many pubs and clubs that populated the area. A blend of music thudded all around me, creating an atmosphere of unrestrained excitement.

Mikhail and Leon parked their bikes and gestured over to me.

“Stop ogling at strangers,” said Leon, pulling on my wrist. “They’d think you’re a foreigner or some shit.”

“I’ve never been to a place like this before,” I said, gazing at the bold, shimmery dresses some of the women wore. “It’s so amazing. This is what I imagined college parties to be like.”

“Do you still want to go to college?” Mikhail asked as he took my hand in his.

I gave a nod. “I know I’m too old but it’s a life experience I don’t want to miss.”

“That Callum’s a bastard for forcing you to stay at home,” said Leon in a bitter tone. “If he cared about you, he’d see how much of a nerd you always were.”

But you saw it right away, I thought silently. Despite their roughness, they never forgot the person I was. A part of me wanted to erase the years between us and take us back to a time when we’d all been happy.

Lost in my thoughts, I almost didn’t notice the long queue we were breaking to reach the front doors of a club.
