“Don’t touch me!” I shouted, slapping his face.

He showed no reaction but he didn’t loosen his hold either. Bringing me closer against him, he said, “Don’t say that shit about my brothers.”

“Or what?” I demanded angrily. “You’ll hurt me again?”

He took a sharp breath and pursed his lips together. Gripping my arm, he led me toward the bed and pushed me onto it.

The soft warmth immediately comforted me. Or maybe it was the effect of the pills I’d just taken.

My exhaustion deepened, causing me to lie down.

A soft moan escaped me as my body sunk deeper into the soft mattress. The bed was amazingly comfortable.

Noah threw a blanket over me.

I grabbed it, covering myself up to my chin.

He gave me a look and proceeded to close the curtains. The dark, heavy drapes immediately blocked the sunlight seeping in, darkening the room.

My eyes closed and refused to open again. It felt so good to lose myself to the sleep overcoming me.

Noah could do what he wanted. I was sure he and his brothers would lie about my absence to Mom and Brian. It didn’t matter anyway. They were all monsters.

I watched as Milla closed her eyes. The pill I gave her was strong, making her fall into a deep sleep within minutes.

Walking away, I reached the door and opened it. There was no one in the corridor outside.Good, I decided. Closing the door, I walked back to the bed and carefully watched her.

Milla’s face and lips were worryingly pale. Glancing in the corner where my brothers took her, I noticed the flecks of blood among the remnants of semen drying on the carpet.

None of us could believe Milla was still a virgin.

We’d planned for her to hate us as much as we hated her and her mother.

Finding something to blackmail her with was the first step to make sure she stayed under our control. I didn’t trust her mother, the woman who seduced my father right after my mom passed away.

What kind of a woman did that? Only people like Eva Brown who didn’t have the decency to work hard and make enough money for herself and her daughter. No. They needed a man like my father to keep paying for their shit.

I and my brothers watched our mom suffer from depression for years before finally giving up and dying of heartbreak. Our father never showed any affection to us. He didn’t even care for her well-being. He wouldn’t even come home on our birthdays.

While he never hit or harmed us, he was cold and aloof. He hurt us emotionally, and that was as horrible as being beaten or abused.

Seeing our dad being warm and cheerful with Eva and Milla brought out the beasts in us. After all these years, we’d accepted the fact our father was an asshole who cared only for his work.

He shattered that illusion as soon as Milla and her mother walked into the room. His uncaring attitude was just a façade.

Our dad was capable of love. I could see it in the way he treated Eva and her daughter.

Why was he never able to loveus?

Mom was always faithful to him. She was a beautiful and intelligent woman. She gave him three sons.

In return, he treated her with nothing but indifference.

A soft moan sounded in the room, making me glance toward Milla.
