Page 56 of Bedroom King

“Scroll, bro.”

I scrolled, and sure enough, there were several pictures uploaded to that post.

They were all posted to an anonymous account that was solely dedicated to Isabella. There I was waiting for her in my car in the parking lot. There was another picture of Isabella in that risqué dress cozying up to me and another picture of us making out at the charity event. Then, most damning, there was a photo of her on her knees before shutting the closet door. And then the cherry on the cake was the photo of me waiting for her in the parking lot of the drugstore.

I felt sick to my stomach.

My mind went sideways.

Aiden snatched his cell phone back. “You won the bet. You are officially The Bedroom King. But you took it way too far, man.”

I finished getting dressed in a hurry and made a beeline to the Rho Alpha Xi sorority house without saying another word. Several girls called my name along the way, commenting that it was such a shame that I was no longer The Bedroom King. Clearly, they’d also gotten the memo about me becoming a dad.

I nearly ran into a sorority girl leaving the house as I ran inside unannounced, much to the surprise of everyone in the living room. “Where’s Isabella?”

She came down the stairs, surprised to see me pacing back and forth in the foyer. “Hey, Blade. I thought we were meeting at the park?”

Everyone in the sorority house stared at us, eager to know what the hell was going on.

“You’re pregnant, Isabella? When were you gonna tell me?”

The audience gathered around collectively gasped as Isabella rushed down the stairs. She grabbed me by the hand and led me back up the stairs in a hurry. She dragged me into the bedroom and closed the door behind us.

“What the fuck are you talking about?”

“Someone took a picture of you buying a pregnancy test at that drugstore and uploaded it online. I fucking knew we were being followed.”

The color drained from her face as she collapsed onto her bed, staring straight ahead.

“Jason,” she scowled. “I should have known!”

For the first time since getting together with Isabella, I was starting to question everything. “Are you behind those anonymous posts?”

“What?”

I showed her the pictures on social media, all stemming from one profile solely dedicated to ruining her reputation. “I know it doesn’t make much logical sense, but it’s the only thing I can come up with. What if you’re paying this person to follow you so you can upload these photos anonymously. Is that where my money is going?”

“Blade, you have got to be fucking kidding me?”

But I wasn’t. “Who are you paying?”

“What?”

“Who are you paying to take all of these fucking pictures?”

She jumped from her bed and took a measured step back away from me. “I’m not paying anyone to do anything. Why the hell would I do such a thing?”

“Oh, I don’t know. Maybe to get back at your parents!”

Tears formed in her eyes as she collapsed back onto her bed. I didn’t want to believe that was the case, but how could I not? Nothing added up, but on some fucked-up level, it made sense that she would want to destroy her parents’ reputation at any cost.

“I can’t believe you’d even think that, Blade.”

I crouched down on the ground to get to her eye level. “Is it true, Isabella?”

“No! I don’t know who’s fucking taking these pictures, but it’s been happening since before you and I even got together.”

She pulled her hands away from her face.
