“Nah . . . I feel good. Like, empty. My head is quiet.” He might feel differently about it later. But he didn’t think so.
Tink yawned, snuggling into him. “Loki?”
“Yeah, precious girl?”
“I’ve been thinking about talking to a therapist about my mom dying and the way it affected me. And how my dad treated me. Do you . . . do you think that’s okay?”
“Fuck, Tink. That’s more than okay. I would support anything you want to do.” He tried to stand with her in his arms, but he was shaky.
Remy helped him stand, supporting both their weights before they moved to the bedroom.
“I suppose I should talk to someone too,” he muttered as they all climbed back into bed.
Isa was curled around him as he lay on his back, her head on his chest.
Remy was around her, his arm over her and touching Loki.
He didn’t hate it.
“Only if you want to,” Remy said.
But yeah, he could see how that was a good idea. With a yawn, he closed his eyes and to his shock, easily slipped off to sleep.

Remy woke up early.
He got out of bed and dressed without waking them. And then he spent a long time watching them sleeping.
Fuck.
Yesterday had been . . . fucking awful.
He should have known about her boss. The way he kept her late at night was a red flag. Fucking hell.
How had he not known?
He should have pushed her.
He’d failed to keep her safe. What sort of Dom was he if he couldn’t keep her safe?
And then there was how pale and tired she’d been . . . what if something was seriously wrong?
He’d been holding himself back, wanting to make this relationship work. But he couldn’t do that anymore. He needed control. He needed to keep her safe.
No matter what.
He’d felt like he was on the outside looking in . . . and not because of anything the two of them had done.
Because of him.
Because that was the way he’d lived his life. Outside, looking in.
No. More.
He was in this relationship. A hundred percent. Was it too early to talk about moving in?
Maybe. But he wanted that. He fucking hated being apart from them.
