“I mean, yes, blow jobs,” she said in her sexiest voice. It was bound to have them falling down to their knees and worshiping her.
“What’s wrong with your throat?” Remy demanded. “Do you feel sick? Fuck, knew you shouldn’t be outside. Loki!”
Remy stood with her in his arms and started to carry her inside. Meanwhile, Loki was cracking up as he followed behind, carrying her sippy cup and mimosa.
Drat. She’d forgotten about her mimosa! That sucked.
“I’m not sick,” she said.
“Then why did your voice sound all husky and weird?” Remy replied as he carried her to the sofa and set her down. “Need a First-Aid kit. Do you have a thermometer?”
“Sure,” Loki said with a shit-eating grin. “It’s in the bathroom. Second drawer down.”
Remy took off, muttering to himself about not letting her get cold again.
“Loki! Darn it. Tell him I’m not sick.”
“Now, how would I know that?” Loki asked.
She wrinkled her nose at him, then stuck out her tongue.
“Hmm. I can think of things I’d like to do with that tongue,” Loki replied.
Yes! Okay, then. Things were looking up.
“Yeah, you can poke it out while Remy takes your temperature.”
What? Rude!
“Out it goes,” Remy said, walking up with the thermometer in his hand.
“I’m not sick, Remy!” she said. “That was my sexy voice.”
Remy stared down at her. “Are you lying to me?”
“No. I promise. I’m fine.”
“That was your sexy voice?”
“Uh-huh.”
Remy shot Loki a look. Her best friend since childhood who she loved and adored just started laughing. “Y-yep. That’s her s-sexy voice.”
She was gonna kill him.
“It will be sad to say goodbye. I’ll miss you, but you’re dead to me.” She lunged for Loki, but Remy caught her.
“Let me at him!” she cried, reaching for Loki.
“Calm down, Princess,” Remy told her.
“No! Let me kill him!”
Loki wiped his grin off his face. Well, he tried to. His eyes were still dancing. “Tink, I’m sorry. Really.”
She huffed out a breath. She wasn’t sure that he was.
“I didn’t mean to make fun of your sexy voice. I think it was, um, really sexy.”
