I shook my head, sighing and hoping that this two-hour drive hadn’t been for nothing.

Greyson snored loudly from the back and shifted in his seat, as if he was trying to remind me that we could have been on a private plane and not stuffed into a car.

“Got a permanent marker?” Sebastian whispered, a mischievous look on his face as he glanced away from the road.

“He will kill you,” Carter said from next to Greyson in the back seat, shooting Sebastian a look, and not bothering to keep his voice quiet at all. He was still pissed that he’d lost rock-paper-scissors, and I was sitting in the front seat instead of in the back with him.

Sebastian rolled his eyes at him through the rear view mirror.

I blew Carter a kiss and he smirked at me. “He won’t kill you, sweetheart. So, go ahead and do your worst.”

“I can hear you, fools,” Greyson drawled in an annoyed, tired voice. He’d been “taking care” of something last night and hadn’t gotten back to the penthouse until we were getting ready to leave this morning. “And Kennedy likes my face too much to do anything to it. So, good luck trying to get her to do anything.”

“I like your face too much? Are you sure about that?” I teased, glancing over my shoulder where he was staring at me, amused.

“You must like to be spanked, baby. Jack’s corrupted you.”

I flushed, and turned back around, decidedly not looking at Jack who was lounging in the third-row of the SUV. I was not going to think about how he’d fucked me in the shower yesterday, convincing me to try out the new butt plug he’d bought for the occasion.

Nope. Wasn’t going to think about that at all.

All of them laughed at me as I squirmed in my seat.

We came to a stop sign, and my throat went dry at the Oak Street sign.

This was it. This was where I used to live.

The whole car went quiet, and I stared at the passing houses, each one a stranger in the landscape of my mind.

And there it was.

A faded yellow two story nestled among a row of similar homes. Its weathered facade seemed to whisper secrets of the past, inviting me to unravel the mysteries hidden within its walls.

Or at least that’s what I imagined it was doing.

There was aFor Salesign in the front yard, a swinging banner underneath it that advertised “Amazing Floor Plan!”

“I’ve arranged for a realtor to meet with us. The home is vacant. She knows to unlock the door and leave,” Greyson commented, and I glanced back at him, surprised.

“That’s convenient.”

His eyes glittered and then I was wondering just how “convenient” it really was.

I was distracted from asking him though when a woman in a tight gray pencil skirt and sky-high heels appeared on the sidewalk in front of the SUV.

A sense of anticipation swelled within me as Sebastian shut off the car, my heart fluttering with the possibility that this house could hold the key to unlocking more of my past.

I was having trouble getting out of the car though.

“Either way, it’s going to be okay, princess,” Sebastian murmured. I took a shaky breath and nodded my head, right as Greyson opened the door and practically yanked me out.

“I will throw the biggest fit this world has ever seen if you don’t sit by me on the car ride home,” he growled, smashing his lips against mine in a kiss that left me breathless. “And we’re never going on a road trip again. We will be flying everywhere.”

I giggled and his gaze softened, and I realized that he’d been trying to make me laugh. Mission accomplished.

“I’ve already unlocked the door. Obviously, take as much time as you need,” the realtor commented, keeping her gaze averted from Greyson.

“Thank you,” he said flippantly as he grabbed my hand and led me towards the front door, its wood badly in need of a paint job. Greyson stared at the rusted handle in disgust, sighing as he grabbed it and pushed the door open. The interior of the house was shrouded in darkness, the faint glow of sunlight flickering through the dusty windows casting long shadows across the floor.
