"Isn't that place located out West somewhere?"

"I'm so glad that you asked that question. To get to Lovers' Leap, we need to drive through several states...including Ohio." Chloe tilted her head until her large silver loop earring was resting on her cheek. "How much vacation time does Mason have saved up? The Lovers' Leap legend says that any couple who visits that particular cliff is doomed to share a tragic fate. Don't you want to prove it wrong?"

A light breeze began to blow across the pond. At first, the wind was subtle. Within seconds, it began to pick up speed and bring with it a slight change in temperature. Phoebe tightened her grip on the upper portion of the thermos as she scanned the tree line.

Jenna was standing near the opening of the path, her burnt-orange sweater hard to miss against the dark backdrop.

"Lovers' Leap." Phoebe cleared her throat and returned Chloe's smile. Jenna approved, which meant there was something to the urban legend that needed to be investigated. "I'll let our viewers know what to expect for our next season."

"Ready?"

Chloe didn't wait for a response. She lifted the camcorder and then used her fingers to count down.

Three.

Two.

One.

"Thank you for joining us," Phoebe began, her tone taking on a professional cadence. "An arrest has finally been made in a case very close to my heart..."

Phoebe continued to speak each word with precision, wanting to honor Jenna's memory while keeping a promise to their audience. Phoebe included as many details as possible, leaving out the revelation that she had inherited a very special gift from her grandmother.

While the podcast embodied that of the supernatural, it was another thing to open oneself up to ridicule. Until there came a time when Phoebe could corroborate her visions to others, she would use her gift to help prove or disprove the urban legends and folklore that had been handed down from generation to generation.

“This has been a special segment of Graveside Mysteries,” Phoebe shared as she brought the recording session to a close. “Until next time…stay curious, stay vigilant, and always remember that graves may hold more than mere memories.”
