“Let’s pause this here and get you some sleep. Your next show is coming up fast,” Aiden said, checking the time.

They left the lounge and headed for the bunks. Bex climbed in first and Aiden climbed in after. Their chests pressed together as he pulled the curtain shut, each of them lying on their sides.

He looked her in the eye and laughed. “Okay so this won’t work. I’m going to end up on the floor.”

“I really thought there was more space,” she laughed.

“Let me lie flat and then you hop on top.”

Aiden flattened himself against the bed and Bex slid on top so her head laid on his chest and her body trailed down his. His body cradled her perfectly.

Her head rose and fell with every breath he took. Her ear pressed to his chest and she could feel the steady pound of his heartbeat. His lips went to her hair and his arms wrapped around her.

“Now, I can sleep like this,” he murmured.

“Me, too,” she murmured. “Cocooned in Aiden” was a position she could always do.

Quickly, the bus lulled them to sleep.

“Wakey wakey! I hope you’re not naked.” Ryker shouted and pulled the curtain back. “Woohoo! They aren’t!”

Bex opened her eyes to Ryker’s cocky grin. “I see you guys figured out the secret to co-sleeping in the bunks,” he said.

“We did. Thanks for your concern. Can I go back to sleep now?” Bex answered groggily.

“No can do. You’re on stage in 15.”

“Really?”

“Yeah they did soundcheck without you. They let you sleep. You’re up next.”

“Ugh. Thanks.”

“No problem.” Ryker quirked an eyebrow at her then disappeared up the bus aisle.

Bex softly shook Aiden.

“Wake up. Showtime,” she said.

Sleepily, Aiden helped her off the bunk so she stood in the aisle, then jumped down himself.

Bex took his hand and led him out of the bus, across the parking lot, to the backstage dressing area. The rest of the band waited around the room and hooted when Bex and Aiden entered. Bex bowed and waved but headed straight for her dressing table.

Quickly, Bex applied her makeup, spiked her hair into a mohawk, and shimmied into her stage clothes. The leather pants and crop top fit snugly. She sat down in a chair set up at her table.

“And there’s the rock star. You look gorgeous.” Aiden kissed her.

“Thank you. I’m glad you like.”

He leaned in and murmured into her ear, “I do agree the outfit’s hot and has its place, but I much prefer you writhing in my bed, without a stitch of clothes on.”

“Maybe if you play your cards right,” she whispered back, “you’ll get me writhing in one of the rooms back here after the show with the hot outfit on.”

He nodded and licked his lips. “That’s a compromise I can deal with.” He kissed her again.

“Lookin’ forward to it.” She broke the kiss and winked at him.

Bex focused on her reflection in the mirror. She hummed and sang chords to warm her voice up. Once she was ready, she climbed out of the chair.
