Fitzwilliam said something unpleasant as security dragged him away.

Mhane and Briar slipped away silently.

Noah’s eyes searched hers, willing her truth to flow free.

“Promise me.” She stopped, her heart pounded like a drum, her palms sweaty, and her nerves sparking like fireworks. “Promise me you’ll never lie to me again,” she whispered, her lips trembling and a tentative smile pulling the corners up.

Noah groaned and sweeping his arms around her back, he pulled her into his arms. He kissed her softly, then deeper, his lips crushing hers.

Adrienne reciprocated, desperate and tender, the kind of kiss that says a thousand words. Noah’s hands clenched on the fabric of her dress and his breathing was harsh as he pulled back.

Looking straight into her eyes he said, “I love you. Will you be my mate?”

Adrienne felt tears form. Noah was confused until she blurted out, “Yes. Yes, I’ll be your mate.”

He groaned in relief and kissed her again.

Applause broke out and they parted in surprise.

Adrienne was sure her face had turned red and the loudest voice that was hollering and hooting…yep, that was Mhane, and alongside her was Briar shaking his head at Mhane, clapping sedately.

“I had no idea everyone was watching us,” she whispered out of the side of her mouth.”

“We could escape,” Noah said just as someone shouted, “Hey, you’re the male in the painting. It’s you. Your hair is the same.”

There was a mutter as everyone started shouting questions at Noah. Then when they finally noticed her and realised, she was the artist, they somehow ended up with a crowd between them, answering their questions and bids rapidly rising higher and higher.

Adrienne could feel Noah’s eyes on her. They never left her.

Whenever she glanced up, it was to find true blue filling her eyes. That same blue she spent hours trying to recreate and perfect on canvas.

His arousal burned behind those true blues. The air became hotter, and she clenched her thighs together.

Adrienne wasn’t even sure they would make it home to bed. Not three seconds later, he was at her side.

“Thirsty, mate?” he asked in amusement.

She chuckled. “For you always.”

He chuckled and began to herd her out as people shouted questions and tried to follow them. Briar and Mhane handled it just fine allowing them to escape to the Jeep.

Noah helped her in and got behind the wheel. She arched her brow because she knew driving wasn’t his favourite thing. He shrugged muttering about necessity. He had learned to drive better so he could drive to her every day, she realised.

Her heart melted and she was a puddle of goo when he turned to her and asked “Home?”

Adrienne knew which home he meant and nodded in response. “Home,” she agreed, her chest full to bursting with emotion, and his responding smile was blinding.

She watched him enter Moon into the Satnav and knew he wouldn’t let her down.

His eyes swung to her. “I love you.” He took her hand and placed a kiss on the back of it.

She felt butterflies in her stomach and turned their hands to entwine them, locking their fingers together. “I love you too.”
