Page 3 of Conflicted Desires

Nico snorted, "You mean you're actually going to share her?"

My hand tightened on the bottle, "Why not." I regretted the words even as they left my mouth. "After all, she's our enemy. We can use her as we want."

Silence descended in the room, and the look of surprise that Atlas and Nico shared did not go unnoticed.

Atlas cleared his throat first, "So what's the plan? Do we go after her?"

I turned towards the fireplace, deep in thought as I watched the flickering flames.

"No. It's too late. She'll be well on her way to the vineyards. We'll have to think of some other way to get her back."

And I did want her back. Badly. She was mine, and I would stop at nothing to get her back. Back in my arms so I can teach her a lesson in obedience!

The fact that I had said Nico could share her, pissed me off even further. I had to control my temper before I said anything else stupid tonight.

I threw the bottle in my hand into the fireplace, causing it to shatter into a million pieces.

Damn you! You bloody difficult Rivera's! You will all pay….

Chapter two

Catalina

"Oh wow! I love convertibles!"

I couldn't help squealing like a schoolgirl at the features of the car. I could see why Luca had bought this one. Mr. Fancy-pants had some great, albeit expensive, taste.

I watched with fascination as the roof retracted and disappeared behind me, relishing the cool night air as it swept in and flowed through my hair and across the back of my neck, calming me instantly. It had been an intense night already and the blood had only just stopped pumping rapidly in my veins.

I can’t believe I just torched their house.

I shook my head of the sentiment. Nope. They deserved it!

Deciding to forget about the guys, I tapped at the dials on the car dashboard to bring up the GPS.

"Argh, how do you work this thing?"

Suddenly, a female voice crooned over the sound system.

"Good evening, where would you like to travel?"

I stared at the screen uncertainly, "Uh, Rivera-Flores vineyards?"

"Sure. One moment please." I waited. Could it really be this easy?

"There are eight possible locations for Rivera-Flores vineyards. Here are your options according to distance. Please make a selection."

Eight locations? Did my family own them all? Which one do I go to?

I sighed, "Dammit!"

"I'm sorry. I do not recognize that selection. Please choose from the following destinations."

I cringed and selected the top of the list on the glowing screen. "I guess the closest one it is."

"Thank you for your selection. You are one hour and twenty-three minutes from your destination."

I grinned. Well, that was easy.
