My legs tremble on both sides of his body. Nik braces himself over me for a few moments, our breathing still heavy as we come back down from our clouds.
“You do not know how much I’ve missed that.” He kisses me again, soft, and slow. His tongue moves with mine in a dance that sends an inferno racing through my body. “How much I’ve missed you, malyshka.”
He moves off me and gathers our clothing. It only takes a few moments to get dressed. Between kisses and teasing touches, both of us manage to pull our clothing on.
“So.” Nik takes my hand and laces his fingers with mine as we sit on the floor, leaning against the car and looking out at the dew-covered field surrounding the barn. “What do you want to do next?”
“You said that we can go back to New York? What about my best friend, Anna? I can’t let her believe that I’m dead, it would devastate her.”
He nods and drapes his arm around my shoulder. “If she means that much to you, I’ll figure something out, okay? Let me handle this though. You have to trust me. I’ve got a new identity waiting for you. All you must do is pick a name that you like.”
“Okay, I trust you. Well as for a name, we’re going to have to think of one that sounds good with Orlov. There’s no point in changing my last name twice.”
He chuckles and tugs me into his side. “My little vixen. Always causing trouble for me.”
“And what trouble am I causing right now?”
“Decide on a name quickly or I’ll fuck you until the only name you know is mine.” He grazes my earlobe with his teeth. “Now, think about what you want our future to be. Anything you want. It’s yours.”
As I look at him and try to figure out the next step in our lives, I realize that it doesn’t matter where we are in the world.
Nik has been my protector from the beginning. He’s brought a life into me that I didn’t know existed. He’s the man I love more than anything else in this world and the next.
Where we go doesn’t matter as long as I’m with him. I’m not worried about the future anymore.
