“Don’t tempt me.” He digs the edge into the skin, cutting a slim line.

A rivulet of blood trickles down my cheek and drips from my chin. The drop of blood hits the white floor.

Soon, it’s going to be my throat.

“Do it.” I lean forward, nearly cutting my face with the scalpel. “You think that hurting me is going to make me want to work with you? Fucking do it.”

Nik reads my gaze with his own, a storm raging inside him. He shakes his head, a lazy smile spreading from one cheek to the other. The scalpel is pulled away from me.

“You would like that, wouldn’t you? Dying is the easy part. It’s what I’m going to do to you on your way there that’s really going to hurt.”

Based on the low tone of his voice, I believe him. This man exudes danger.

There is no doubt in my mind that he could slice the skin from my body if he wanted to.

Which means that he wants information from me more than he wants to kill me.

Nik twirls the scalpel between his fingers. “You’re going to tell me about the investigation and I’m not going to kill you. Take the deal, Hazel. It’s the best that you’re going to get.”

“Not happening.”

His sigh is long and loud—yet another part of his dark little show. “I wish that you would think about this. The men holding you could snap your arms right now. What are you going to do with two broken arms?”

“What are you going to do when I lock you up for the rest of your life?” The pitch of my voice matches his.

Idiot. Stop insulting him. Don’t make this worse for yourself.

He brings the weapon to my collarbone, barely grazing the skin. Warm blood drips from the shallow cut. I’m sure that it’s soaking into the neckline of my favorite white shirt.

“Maybe some alone time down here will make you more willing.” He stands and nods to his men. “Tie her up good. Make sure that she can’t get free this time. Lock the knives up.”

“That’s it?” I mock as he goes over to the counter and puts the scalpel down. “You’re just going to give up now?”

He shrugs and strides to the door. “Not giving up. Giving you time to give me what I want.”

“That’s not going to happen. You should just kill me now. I’m never going to bend to you.”

“Oh, malyshka, I always get what I want and, in the end, you’re going to bend for me whichever way I tell you to.”

Chapter 6 - Nik

The door slams shut as I leave Hazel to think about what her life is worth.

Damn it all. That little vixen is going to give me a run for my money.

I stuff my hand in my pocket and adjust my swelling cock. Just having her on her knees in front of me and talking about the way I’m going to make her bend has me worked up.

After this, I’m going to need the coldest shower known to man.

There is business to attend to before I go home and try to erase the image of Hazel bending over from my mind.

She may be attractive, but she is the enemy.

I cross the main room to one of the other doors. As the door swings open, some of the tension melts from my body. The dark walls of my office greet me, even as I flick on the white light. Behind my solid oak desk is a wall of security cameras showing every inch of the factory and basement.

In one of the camera footage, Hazel scowls. Viktor and Dimitri tie her up, looping rope around her hands and ankles. Dimitri opens one of the cabinets and pulls out a gag. Viktor forces her mouth open while Dimitri shoves it into her mouth.

Her face is a mask of fury. She could attack them at any moment, but now that she knows their weapons aren’t loaded, I doubt that she is willing to take the risk.
