Everyone knows the star jock and the school’s #1 nerd don’t match.

Tristan and I may roam the same halls, but we are worlds apart. I’m a debate dork with a little extra weight, and he’s the hot AF quarterback every girl wants to date.

Yet, it wasn’t always that way. As kids, he was more than a friend to me. He was my first crush, and I was his. After his mom was imprisoned, I protected him from the bullies, knowing he’d always be there for me. Then his father took him away, hoping to vanish his son’s traumatic past… and erasing me with it.

But nothing can stop destiny.

Eight years later, Tristan and I find each other in my new high school—the encounter shaking us to our core. Soon, we realize the connection between us is electric and undeniable, transforming the love we once shared into an all-consuming attraction. Except, my heart breaks when I discover that he’s not the same boy I knew, and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to defend his title as the school’s hottest jock… even if it means bullying me.

Forced to protect myself from the one person I never thought would hurt me, I can’t help but wonder, can Tristan overcome his pain, and fight for us without caring what others think? Or is it time to accept that my first love was never meant to be?
