The worst possible place to wake up is in the arms of your enemy.

When I find myself in one bed with Yuri Kalinin — shifter prince in exile, work-nemesis, and my ex from hell — the day is off to a catastrophic start.

Surprise twist: apparently there’s an assassin after me. And his former-majesty claims he has to protect me. Like I need any protection from a towering bear shifter with killer abs, a cocky-bastard grin and an ego the size of a planet. To say he and I have a score to settle would be like calling the Hindenburg disaster a light flare.

His brilliant plan: we fake an engagement, I play his devoted fiancée and help him regain his throne and get the killer of my back.

The catch: I’m so not a princess. I’m as anti-damsel-in-distress as they come. And just being in the same room with him makes me want to strangle him.

So we’re trapped in his luxury penthouse, only him and me and lots of ancient history.Plus a heap of spellbinding chemistry from days long gone.

Chemistry that is still smoldering.

A pull that is just too strong to resist.

And a furious kiss that holds the power to mend his broken promise.

But is it enough to save what we once were?

Lightning never strikes twice, they say, and fairy tales rarely come true. But what if they do?

And what if this time around it is the princess who must do the saving?
