As a single mom and a Texas high school teacher, I have far too much going on, and breaking in the new coach is not on my to-do list. Especially not when the new coach is Beau Fontaine--the same Beau Fontaine I used to tutor in high school. He was a total pill fifteen years ago, and he's a total pill now. If this man thinks the English department will take a back seat to our school's flailing football program, he's got another think coming.

The second I learned that I would never play professional football again, I knew the universe was trying to tell me something. I'm going back to my hometown, to teach and coach at the same school as Mary Maleczech. Destiny has spoken. I've never gotten over the shy girl who used to tutor me in high school -- the girl who up and disappeared on me before I ever had a chance to ask her out. I've got my chance now, and I'll do everything in my power to convince her that I'm not the arrogant jock I used to be, and that she will always be the one for me.
