Snow One Like You

My coworkers swore if I went out with them that I’d have a good time. They didn’t really leave me much choice as they confiscated my cell until I admitted defeat and went. Much to my chagrin, they were right. Just not in the way they assumed. I met a man. I know! How cliché, seeing as it was a bar, but nothing happened other than agreeing to a date with Calvin Wells. A detective. The irony of his profession is not lost on me considering what my parents used to be.

My job consumes me. I freely admit that and don’t see it changing anytime soon. However, my buddies convinced me to go out for a drink, maybe two, and I agreed. Plus, the incentive of having them do my paperwork made the deal too sweet to pass up. So is the woman that caught my attention the second she entered my space. Snow Dey stole my heart before I even knew her name. It doesn’t really matter anyway considering I’m determined to give her mine.
