The man who broke her heart is the only one who can protect her from a serial killer’s twisted justice.

Coffee shop owner Holly Bristol has spent years trying to forget the one night that changed her life. Reid Fleming was her best friend’s older brother, her longtime crush, and the only man she ever imagined building a future with. She never got the chance. After one unforgettable night together, he left for the Navy, taking her heart with him.

Now Reid is back in Blackridge, and when the FBI links a string of violent attacks to Holly’s beloved shop, the safe little world she’s built is turned upside down. Every crime scene is staged with something from her shop, and someone hiding among her regular customers is choosing victims over lattes and old grudges.

Former Navy JAG officer Reid Fleming returned home to care for his retired judge grandfather, not to face the woman he’s never forgotten. With Shadow Point Security and the FBI convinced Holly is in danger, however, Reid volunteers to go undercover as a barista to keep her safe – and prove to her that this time, he’s not walking away from her.

Holly has no intention of trusting him, no matter how much chemistry still burns between them. As the threats escalate and old feelings refuse to stay buried, Reid uncovers a connection to one of his grandfather’s old courtroom cases.

And if Reid can’t unravel the truth in time, Holly will become the final target in the killer’s deadly quest for justice.
