Thunder
Thunder
Growing up in an MC was supposed to be an honour,
It was supposed to center me, make me feel whole and wanted.
I loved my brothers, and I loved the sense of home,
Until I had to watch men I saw as family fall apart,
I had to watch them suffer with pain,
I had to watch them struggle to be a part of the family unit we had,
And I became the jokester of the club, the idiot to try to keep the club together, to keep my family together.
I created a persona, but I lost myself in the process,
I forgot who I was and what my purpose in life was.
After watching brothers settle down and have kids, I decided I needed to ride,
I needed to find who I was again.
The plan was to always return home, to return to my family,
But the longer I was gone, the freer I became.
I was finally finding myself again, finally happy,
But my family wanted me home, and I had a decision to make,
One that should have been easy, but then I met her.
She came out of left field and sucked me in,
She became someone I never wanted but suddenly needed,
And for the first time in my life, my club wasn’t my priority,
She was.
But she had family issues, and she was closed off,
She fought this connection between us,
And the persona I thought I created to save my family came out to play,
Because no matter what my Treasure believes,
We belong together, and I’d do anything to make her mine with my brotherhood at my back,
Proving to me what I proved to them over the years,
That family will always come first.

Growing up, looking in from the outside, life looked good.
Two loving wealthy parents, a sister who was an attorney, and a brother who earned his doctorate in psychiatry,
To the outside world, we looked like the perfect family, but that was far from the truth.
I was the black sheep of the family despite being an ER resident, top in my class,
I was the embarrassment who didn’t get her doctorate or a law degree.
My parents were distant and cold, my sister thought everyone was beneath her, and my brother was a pig,
I rarely went home unless it was mandatory, and being alone felt right to me.
I didn’t want to depend on anyone, I didn’t want to give anyone my heart because growing up in my family, you learn that love doesn’t exist,
At least, that’s what I thought, until him….
He came out of nowhere and knocked me off my feet,
He made my heart race and my palms sweat,
And that scared me, so I pushed back,
I refused to fall.
But he kept being brought into my ER, demanding to only see me,
He made me laugh, he made me want a future I didn’t think I wanted,
But he’s part of an MC, a world I have no clue about,
A world my family would not agree with,
A world they would try to tear apart,
But the one thing that they don’t realize,
When a biker claims you, they won’t ever let you go,
And nothing will stop my biker from having me, not his past and certainly not my family,
Which is a scary, yet thrilling thought all in one, because for once in my life, I want someone,
I want him….
