He was called Rascal because he was so dour. He didn’t find fun in life, and for good reason. His ex-girlfriend had left him for dead. Stabbed him through the heart and walked away. Now she was rotting in jail, and he had moved state and found somewhere he might fit in.

Finally, beginning to believe he was safe, he was stunned when he received notice his ex was being freed. New evidence, the DA claimed, but Rascal knew better. He’d stared into her eyes when she drove the knife in. No matter what bull she spewed, he knew she’d tried to kill him.
She had loved and lost, and through no fault of her own. Her boyfriend had claimed adamantly that she’d stabbed him. He’d testified against her and sent her to prison. Her lawyer was rubbish, and she got stitched up. Refusing to lie down and accept her fate, she kept digging and finally found the evidence she needed to prove her innocence. But she needed to know why he’d lied about her. Who was he protecting?

Two strong personalities clash as they both think the other is lying. She refuses to lie down and die, and he won’t let her back into his life. Neither of them believes the other until the unexpected happens. What is going on? Who was to blame, and can Rascal save the woman he loves, despite himself, before it’s too late?
