My name is Aurora, but I am not a damsel.
I witnessed the darkest parts of this world, but my sister saved me and brought me home to the Vipers.
Cinder always saved me. She treated me like the child she rescued, not the woman I fought to become.
But then one night she called, and her words sent a chill straight to my bones.
Wanna chase fireflies, Firefly?
It was our code when we were kids that meant I had to hide while she protected me. It was the last thing I heard over the line before the gunshot rang out.
The Vipers wanted to believe it was our enemy, but I knew the truth…
My sister’s killer was a monster from my past, and now I need to remember the life I fought to forget.
The girl from the past I buried.
And I needed help from women I never should have fallen for:
Widow, my sister’s best friend. Older, intense, and the first woman who broke my heart.
Vesper, the pyro who has a heart of gold. My fierce protector. Our connection is explosive, and my heart is the one thing she doesn’t want to burn.
Hades, daughter of my sister’s enemy. One night with her felt like forever. She’s forbidden, but perfect. Hades is intense and hiding secrets that could be our demise.
In this world, princesses never survived—but I was no princess.

I wrote my own story, and this firefly was ready to burn the world down.
