Remmen
I came to Ceres-9 to counsel traumatized alien gladiators, not fall into bed with their mayor.
After my fiancé replaced me with my best friend and my last job nearly broke me, this posting was supposed to be a fresh start.
Then I met Remmen.
A former gladiator turned mayor with a body built for violence, and the kind of quiet authority that makes everyone around him fall into line. He’s controlled, capable, and devastatingly good at taking care of everyone but himself.
He’s also completely off limits.
My contract has one very clear rule: no fraternizing with the men I’m here to help.
If we’re caught, I could lose my job, my home, and the only career I have left.
Which would be easier if the way Remmen looks at me didn’t make me forget every reason I shouldn’t touch him.
Easier if one stolen touch didn’t leave me wondering exactly what those enormous hands could do with the rest of me.
And easier if staying away from him didn’t get harder every time I discover another piece of the male beneath the mayor.
I crossed the galaxy because I needed a second chance.
Falling for Remmen could destroy it.
But I’m starting to think walking away from him might be the bigger mistake.
