She is an expert at killing but a novice to love.

Nora Douglas’ life task is simple, but it is not easy. Her father has announced to her from an early age that she is destined to marry a Highland Laird, but only so that she can murder him! Now that Nora is traveling to the Duncan clan, she gets flashbacks of the time she first learned to slit a man’s throat and her father’s excitement at how she had excelled at it.
While waiting for his bride, Nora, to arrive, William Duncan contemplates their upcoming marriage. He knows little of this lass and would have liked to marry for love, but the alliance she will provide is worth the while. After all, how bad can she be..?
A few years ago, William would have discussed the matter with his sisters, but the Lairdship has turned him into a fearsome and unapproachable man. Feeling that he has forgotten how to communicate with a woman, William is more than nervous when he first meets Nora. However, her unparalleled beauty leaves him stunned!
As much as she wants to ignore it, Nora also feels attracted to the Laird. His people love him, and, even with her father’s constant pressure, she begins to doubt whether she can take William away from his clan and sisters. When the moment she has been training for arrives, will the lass be able to take the life of a man who has only shown her nothing but respect and affection?
