August’s Cowboy Braxton
I don’t get involved with clients. I keep them safe, stay focused, and when the job is over, I walk away.
Addison Blake makes that rule impossible to follow. The rodeo queen has been receiving threats she insists are nothing to worry about. But when someone gets close enough to track her every move, protecting her becomes my only priority.
I shouldn’t get possessive over clients. And I refuse to be distracted by green eyes and dusty boots and a woman who smiles like she’d rather bleed than admit she’s scared.
The longer I stay by Addison’s side, the harder it gets to separate the job from the woman underneath the crown. She’s stubborn, brave, and determined to keep living her life no matter who’s trying to scare her.
I’ve already failed to protect someone I loved once. I won’t fail her. And whoever thinks they can get to Addison will have to go through me first.
The Cowboys of Mustang Mountain carry regrets, rivalries, and reputations they’ve never quite outrun. They’re the men who fix fence lines by day, fight their demons by night, and swear they don’t need anyone. Their pasts are messy. Their scars are real. And their hearts are locked down tight.
Until the right woman walks into their path and shakes the dust off their hardened hearts. Women who aren’t afraid to push back, dig deep, and call these cowboys out on every wall they try to hide behind.
On Mustang Mountain, even the roughest cowboy can find a future, but only if he’s brave enough to love the woman who won’t let him walk away.
