Shattered Oaths

Name: Shattered Oaths
Author: B.L. Payne

114 pages

Fifteen years ago, I made an oath to my best friend.
That I would stay far, far away from his off-limits little sister.
Eight years ago, I broke that oath.
What started out as an innocent encounter between friends, quickly turned into something that I didn’t have the power to stop.
And if I’m totally honest, I didn’t want to.
When I woke up next to her the next morning, hungover and full of regret, I did the unthinkable.
I told her I didn’t remember any of it.
Now, herein lies my three problems.
Number one: I do in fact remember every detail… vividly.
Number two: I’ve been lying to my best friend for the past eight years, and with every day that passes, the guilt begins to eat my alive.
Number three: She’s in love with someone else.
Someone who happens to be the person I hate most.
What do you do when you’re obsessing over the only girl who is off-limits in more way than one?
The answer is… nothing.
Until she winds up on my front porch, crying and looking for a place to stay.
Then the answer is, everything.
